Hey ladies! Ike has come and gone and I am back, although only temporarily. I stuck out the storm okay (it was an awesome storm), although we have no water or electricity. So, today I came to a city close to Austin, where SO's company has paid for us to stay at a resort! I will only be here tonight, then I go back home to no electricity and no internet, and SO stays here. They are saying it could be 2 to 4 weeks before we get electricity back. Ugh. Our only saving grace right now is a cold front that came through, but after that we are screwed! We will be baking!

I do have pics for you storm lovers, but unfortunately none of the actual storm coming through. It was too dark and my camera sucks. But I have a lot of aftermath pics. I don't have my camera with me now, so that will have to wait.

There are a ton of downed trees and stuff, some of which landed and went through houses and cars. None of my stuff got damaged, including my car, which was unprotected, so I'm kinda lucky. The apartment next to us got part of it's roof ripped off (down to the wooden frame), and chimneys ripped off. H o u s t o n and the surrounding area is like a twilight zone! I can't imagine what Galveston looks like. You guys probably know more than I do since I have been cut off from the world for the past few days.

Anywho, I'm going to go catch up with everything while SO is working, since I just have one night back! Missed you ladies!

I'm glad you made it through the storm OK. I hope they get the electricity and water sorted out soon.

I'm glad you are doing okay and I hope they get your electricity back on sooner than what they are projecting!

It really is crazy when you drive around H o u s t o n and look at the damage. And of course, G-town is so much worse.

I saw the footage of the coast as the surge was coming before I lost power... it was awful!

O/T but the room cleaning lady just tried to come in the room and my dog almost attacked her! The poor woman! He didn't bite, he just barked and growled. He's not used to people just coming in. She started crying! I feel so bad! It was hard to tell because she was wearing loose clothing, but I think I might have seen a small baby bump on her. Will a good scare hurt baby if she is pregnant? I sure hope not! I'm wondering if that is why she started crying. Ohhh I feel so bad!
