I'm glad you're beginning to get some answers...

I think I'm an idiot here, but my doctor did tell me I had a tilted uterus, but never mentioned anything about it.. Is this a bad thing?

I'd love to call every doc I've ever had and ask them why they didnt tell me my uterus was tilted.

Blood work done-- she totally listened to everything I said and they took 4 VIALS of blood. She's going to test everything I'm asking for and more. I saw the nurse midwife and loved her-- she doesnt do homebirth but she's a good backup if I need the hospital for some reason. She thinks I have some verified problems and they arent just in my head

She's glad to hear I can get pregnant and that I ovulate on my own. She of course told us to start doing it in a different position (which we randomly did this cycle) and to get more answers when blood work comes back Monday

Apparently I have a tilted uterus too. The 3d ultrasound lady told me. No one else had ever said anything!

No its really not a huge deal... however to get pregnant, some sources say, as my midwife says that its much harder to get pregnant doing it missionary-- you need to be doing it from behind/me on my stomach for much better results

Its not a big deal, but its something I need to know. We dont typically do it in that position EVER. This cycle was the first time I can think of in probably 2 years

Breanna I remember you saying that one of ya'lls fave positions was from behind-- I'm wondering if thats one of the reasons you got pregnant too! How sad that I remember that (something with a mirror and bathroom counter involved!)

She said "wow its WAY up in there and its tilted". Mine is anteverted, tilting to the front, and makes it hard to reach when I'm checking it. I remember starting a post awhile back asking if anyone else was sideways or to the front

oh and also lay on your stomach post BDing instead of on your back helps also! (depending on the severity of the tilt laying on your back would make the baby batter pool under your cervix and never giving it a chance to get into the uterus post ejaculation squirt.
Just thought in case you didn't know that I would share.

Mine tips too far forward- also can cause back pain and painful periods. Sex can also be painful. It doesnt make it harder to concieve, just means we need to do it in a different way. Its like we've been riding a bike with square wheels. The bike is sturdy, made well, works ok, but the mechanism, the way we were using it was wrong.

I think I just read something in another open window that dittos' that so sounds like good advice-- I'll start doing that for sure. I've been laying on my back and apparently doing nothing since it wasnt getting where it needed to be

I too have the tilted uterus. Took them 3 years to tell me and this was AFTER multiple ultrasounds. Just one day she was like "Oh yeah, you have a tilted uterus" Uh huh. These were the SAME morons who couldnt figure out why i had such heavy clotty painful periods. (The SAME morons who should have done the saline sono 3 years ago...) Needless to say -- i am NOT using my GYN as my OB (she is both). I am using a midwife instead because obviously, those ladies don't know 1+1 = 2.

DEFINETLY BD from behind. And your supposed to lay on the belly afterwords, butt DOWN. Just lay there and watch TV for 30 minutes.

I am just glad you're finally getting some solid answers!! Knowing = better than not knowing. Now you can have a real chance. It totally blows that it took so long to find all this out though.

Whenever we do it from behind I always put a pillow under my tummy, it's so much more comfortable that way! I mean, it also might have something to do with me being one of the LAZIEST people ever....haha.

I hope the different position works for you though! That would be awesome!

Hmm...interesting. Well, hopefully once you start ttc again, you'll be able to conceive right off the bat.

They probably never mentioned it b/c it's not anything bad or to be concerned about. It's just a variation of normal. Some women have them tiled to the front, some to back, some straight up and down. Sperm are going to get to your cervix no matter what position you DTD in. The different position thing for different tilts are just things that 'might help' but theres no research on it and there is no difference in fertility b/w women with a tilted uterus and those who dont have one. Many women don't even know theres it tilted. Don't get stuck thinking you HAVE to DTD from behind in order to get pregnant. Your vaginal canal isnt very big...there isnt really any place for the sperm to go but to your cervix. But I suppose this could be a good excuse to try different things!

Hey, girl! Just jumping on here with my last little bit of free time (I'm an addict, lol) and saw this post. I have a tilted uterus, too and mine is also retroverted. Retroverted means it tips completely back in my pelvis, towards my tailbone. It also is tipped closer to my right ovary (the one that rarey ovulates) which means there is a HUGE jump for the egg to get from the operational, left ovary into the fallopian tube. Both times we've gotten pregnant, we were either in the "doggy" or spooning positions.

GOOD LUCK SWEETIE!! I'm gonna try and check up on your chart this weekend!

I'm glad you have some answers! I've heard varying things about whether a tilted uterus makes a difference or not.

Mine is apparently tilted the left. My RE said that made no difference, no idea if she is right. We did it missionary style the month we got preggo which is what we typically did every month. I'm not a big doggy style fan.
