fine. Friday had a friend in town who is working in Saudi Arabia so a big group of us went out to eat and then hit the clubs till the sun came up. Sat went water skiing and got a massage and hung out at the beach. Didn't do much today because I was tired so it was a sleep in day and laid around watching tv shows that we needed to catch up on before the new seasons starts. Troy's sister got married sat night, we missed the wedding but called to tell them congrats, sounds like they had a perfect day! I have been staying as busy as I can. The plan is to go bungy jumping and zip lining this week. I think I have to wait a bit for scuba diving though So I am trying to plan a trip to one of the islands for a scuba trip in early oct. Hoping my cycle bounces back to normal and my next estimated O date would be in 15days!!!
I got my OPKs and HPT all ready and my thermometer is back at my bedside...just need to upgrade my FF to VIP again and I am good to go!!!!!

Sounds like you're doing a good job of keeping busy! Just make sure you take time out for you as well, to relax, and cope however you need to.

I'm your local lurker (lol) cause of all the people I know on WTTC ( )
Sorry your going through all this. I'm surprised you were out at the beach waterskiing so soon! Wow! Every single person I've EVER known was still heavily bleeding after a D & C at this point (and its a HUGE no no to use a tampon or anything "up there" ). You must be one lucky woman, or brave lol.

massages, water skiing, partying, scuba diving... ah, that sounds perfect!
Do you have your cert in scuba diving? I've done my open water, advanced and search and rescue - I love it! Let me know of any hot spots you find, as we'd love to get back over to Thailand and do some more diving in the next few years!

How is it possible that after losing so much blood that you almost needed a transfusion, and after having a d&c you were able to go out clubbing all night and then waterskiing the next day? I thought most ppl were confined to bed for several days after either of those things, let alone both! Is your dr okay with all of this? Bungee jumping seems like it would be especially harmful for your body right now...
Maybe you should try to take it easy.

Wow Angela, you must be a superwoman. You had a D&C with massive bleeding Friday morning, then went clubbing Friday night all the way through Saturday morning (without stopping to go to bed!). And then you went waterskiiing Saturday, all while being anemic and recovering from such a loss. Slow down woman!
Also, I don't know how good the doctor's or hospitals are in Thailand (no offense Thailand!) but I don't think pregnancy loss bleeding after a D&C should count as a period, and I am surprised they didn't advise you wait a full cycle to TTC again. You have got to watch out for your health. I would think you would need recuperating time to be in the best possible shape physically to conceive again. Just a thought.

Please take it easy(ish) hun. I know you like the adventurous things, but they can wait a couple days, no? Plus, if you're anemic now from all the blood loss, waiting a month before TTC might be a good idea. It's take time for your body to make more red blood cells. Just want you to be safe and healthy

After my miscarriage, my doc told me that I had to wait until a normal period, that the bleeding I was experiencing was not a period. In fact she recommended waiting at least one cycle to make sure that my body had recovered. And that was just a natural miscarriage, not a D&C. So much physical activity right now seems very unhealthy for your body. What's the rush?

We all cope in our own ways, and if this is what is helping then I'm glad...

Sounds like you have a ton of fun, adventurous things planned to help make this time go by quickly and in an enjoyable way. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better with each passing day. I thought you were waiting until after your checkup at the end of September to start TTC again? Hopefully you O this month though as you said, just to make sure your cycles are back in the swing of things.

Glad to see you're having fun. I hope the mental distractions don't lead to any physical complications, like heavier bleeding/clotting after your D&C-- esp. if you were told it's OK to TTC this cycle! I know you don't want anything to mess up the next BFP!

I'd REALLY caution you on zip lines. You wear the harness on your pubic area, on your hips and between your legs. You hang from the line with the harness pressing tightly on that area. I really dont think that would be good at all considering what you just went through. It could really cause some damage, and pain for sure
Here are some pics
I really dont think you'd want to do that for fun or especially for medical reasons
If your doc didnt caution you not to drink or do some of these things, I'd consider seeing someone else. I dont know if you drank, but alcohol thins the blood greatly. I cant see them clearing you to drink right after a major procedure like that, especially with the blood loss like that. Alcohol would be a major problem, as would be tampon wearing, skiing, bungee jumping, swimming and a bunch of other things.
I think you need a second opinion before you TTC or do any of these activities at all-- it could really put you at risk, but I"m sure you know that with your nursing background. I know you want distraction but the things you are listing are not medically advisable
I"m not questioning your method of coping- thats totally up to you. But I"m very worried about your health and how these could affect you
Just for some info for anyone reading, cause I think you know this stuff Angela. I"m just posting cause lots of newbies come along later.
Also do you know when you'll get tissue results back? Its pretty typical following D&C. That could be really useful info for you and I'm looking forward to hearing more
Quote:
Follow-up
After a D&C, you will generally get a list of instructions with the following suggestions:
* Avoid intercourse for 2 weeks. The dilated cervix needs a chance to shrink back to normal size. Until this time, bacteria can easily get into your uterus and cause infection.
* Use only sanitary pads for bleeding. Avoid tampons for at least 2 weeks. Do not use douches.
* Be sure to return for your follow-up visit. At this time, your doctor can discuss all lab reports on your tissue samples. Your doctor will also want to examine you for any signs of infection and to make sure your cervix has returned to normal size.[/b]

I'm totally ditto'ing Lash here. A lot of way young newbies come along and read and they may get the idea that they too can go out clubbing after a D&C and traumatic blood loss, or ziplining, or scuba diving, or bungee jumping, or skiing, etc....and end up killing themselves in the process. Given bloodclots the size of grapefruits, a loss at 12wks, a surgical procedure where you are under anesthsia, I don't see how anyone----coping mechanisim or not-----can go out partying until the sun comes up. Physically I mean. I have bled to the point of nearly needing a transfusion...and I was only 18 at the time and it great health other than the scarring I was having surgery on. It takes a LONG time for your body to replenish THAT much blood. Not just a few hours. I couldn't even walk to the bathroom alone with out passing out. I say this not only for you, but for those who may read this and think they could do some of the things you have mentioned post MC and D&C with major blood loss. It's just not medically and physically safe. And dr's advise to wait 1 full cycle to ttc again, not just for your health, but that of the baby too as your uterus needs time to heal.
