I figured someone on here might know this...
I bought some things for SIL today at Target. Two things were off her registry but the other stuff was not. I got a gift receipt underneath my regular receipt but the gift receipt only lists the two things that I bought off the registry and not the others. Does this mean if she tried to return the other items, they would not take them back? I'm just confused as to why the non-registry items did not get listed on the gift receipt.
I want to make sure she can return if she needs to, so if I have to, I'll include the original receipt with the prices on there.
Oh and P.S. My Target has Bumgenius diapers!

Target sucks for returning things and for registries all around, so no matter what you do, if she needs/wants to return it it's gonna be a hassle, lol.

gift registry items will be the only thing the gift receipts are good for. If you bought her other stuff as a gift that was not on the registry yes you will have to be the one to return it with your receipt! SO SAVE IT!.

Another thing, Target (at least here) only allows 2 returns PER YEAR! I about died when I went to return stuff - I didn't have receipts for a bunch of stuff, so anything I had that didn't have a receipt, I couldn't return at all - just had to keep it! Walmart is the same way, except, you don't have to have your receipt, but in that case, you can only return 2 a year...

Ugh. I'm just going to give her my original receipt (I put all her stuff onto one transaction). She'll just have to know how much I spent, but whatever. I want her to be able to take things back if she needs to.
Shouldn't be a problem with the original receipt as long as she does it within 3 months.

depends did you pay with your credit card or cash/check. If you did credit card they will want the card to refund it to and you will need to sign (so YOU have to do the return). If its cash/check she should get the option for gift card or cash.
But yeah their return policy sucks! I had one of my wedding registries there.

Oh crap. I used my credit card. I thought they'd still take it back and give her store credit.
Ugh. Although I do love some of the stuff at Target, this is a big part of why I don't plan to register there.

with cc I was never given the option for store credit--they always refund the card.
I agree though Target registries---NEVER going to happen for me again!

We don't have a Target here (yet) but I have been told about the return policies sucking. I have bought some things online and luckily they were all perfect & not in need of returning.
I didn't know about the 2 item return per year at Wal-Mart, but I hardly ever return stuff there. (But if you have gift receipts, should be okay, right? I got gift receipts at the Gymboree outlet for my baby boy purchases yesterday just in case...I made like I was buying them for someone else!)
