OK, so I typed this whole thing out yesterday and then the site went down!!!

I went to my LC apointment Monday. It went good. They weighed her before I feed her. She's Is 10lb's 6oz's...Only thing Is She was 10Lb's 2 months ago!!!!! She's only gained 6oz's in 2 months!!!!!! Oh No!!!!! I knew she wasn't getting enough!!!! Well, they showed me how to lacth her on correctly and It was working fine. Of course though today they hurt soooooo bad and she isnt lacthing the right way again!!!! I feel horriable!!! Im trying the best I can to make this work but I dont think It's working anymore.... After the feeding they weighed her again and she was 10lb's 13oz's.....They said that a 7oz's weight gain is good. But the thing Is Im back to useing the sheild again cause I can't get her to latch the right way! I think thats why she's not gaining cause she's not getting enough milk!! This place Is only on mondays so now Ill have to wait till next week to go in again. I feel like I should be doing more but I dont know what to do!!! I really dont want to stop BFing but I might have to cause she's not gaining enough

(((HUGS))) Amy! First of all, have you been told by a LC or Cambria's ped that she doesn't weigh enough/isn't getting enough? I wouldn't give up hope just yet. Also, are you having supply issues? If so, try pumping and fenugreek.

Oh Ams, I wish I could give you a huge huggle. You are trying your hardest and that's the best thing you can do. You're doing great!! Look how long she has lasted on your milk. As long as she's healthy, try not to worry too much about the weight gain thing.

Is she not a healthy weight anymore? Did the doctor or LC say something that makes you think that? *worries*
She looks great in her pictures!

That must be very frustrating. I'm using a shield at times to because one of my nipples are very sore. I was told that the shield can decrease milk supply and it helps to pump to stimulate my nipples for 5 mins per day on each breast. When I saw a couple LC at the hospital they would get him to latch on the correct way. I never can. If I do he will go back to his way after I latch him. Have you checked to see if there are any breastfeeding support groups in your area? My hostpital has one that meets once per week and it's free. Maybe you can check into something like that.

I never really went by Curtis' weight (other then at his scheduled appointments). I always counted his wet and dirty diapers.

I can't remember how many they need of both in a day but I'd go by that. Some babies just gain at their own rate. If her body is getting enough to make enough wet and dirty diapers you should be fine.

Try not to worry too much, Ams. I would suggest using the pump to help increase her intake if you think she's not getting enough.
