I remember you went for an early ultrasound... to check the gender. Well in my 13 week email it said that the genitals are formed and can be seen on an ultrasound. Our scan isn't until mid-late November to check and to do all the measurements. But now that I know it could be seen, I want to schedule an appt with another place to check. And I want to wait til I'm about 15 weeks... so in 2 weeks

So how did you find a place to go to? I will pay cash, and I don't want to do a 3/4 dimension one, just a regular one??? So tell me how you found your place. I'm near Detroit in Michigan.

I know they can detect that early, but I would wait...a friend was told at 15/16 weeks she was having a boy and at her 23 week u/s baby was plainly a girl(and was born definitely girl).

It's more accurate if you wait closer to 18 - 20 weeks!

I know its more accurate... and our measurement scan is around my 19th week. But if I can go somewhere during my 16th week (like what Niknok did) and of course I would take the info told to us knowing it could be wrong, but I'm curious! And if we can do it for not too much money, it'd be worth it to me Just a thought

My sisters both went to a gender scan but the place she went to would only do a gender scan at 16 weeks and you HAD to have a 2nd trimester ultrasound before they would do one...but it was called Castleton Ultrasound in Indianapolis...

Agreeing with Sarah here, they wanted me to have already done the anatomy scan at the office. (I fibbed). And my gender scan was at 17 weeks, b/c my office US wasn't until 21 weeks. The US place also wanted me to be 19 weeks. (Fibbed again) I found a place just by googling local ultrasound places. Some OB offices will do anatomy/gender scans as early as 16 weeks, but most prefer 18-20 weeks. I think you'd be fine as far as accuracy, but wouldn't go off buying big expensive blue/pink items until it's confirmed a second time at the OB's office. Good luck! I can't believe it's going to be so soon!

I think I was 17 wks w/ brayden too. But they tell you here at 16wks but most still wait until around 18ish. Ihad lots of u/s's though lol (5wks, 17wks, 22wks, 24weeks, 34wks) I may be missing one. I'd have to go look at the pics!

Mine wouldn't give me mine until 18 weeks. They said they usually make you wait until 20 but with Nic in the military and us moving and etc..they made an exception Good luck!
