Some other pictures here http://sliversun.blogspot.com/

Ariving at KMC
(5:55am)

In Pre-op, they let him choose an animal, just before surgery the booger ran back to the room(they were letting him walk around) and grabbed another doggy and they let him keep it!

After Surgery

Showing me his animals, 2 from pre-op, one monkey(don't think he showed me) from the Ped's nurse, a froggy from my mom, and his puppy from home

He got a truck from a thing called "Andrea's Closet" Some hospitals have it to help sick kids that are in the hospital. (Andreascloset.org)

And his lovely messed up vein in his right hand(left was messed up too not nearly as bad as the right) I just took this picture, looks worse in person then in the photo

Hes also not sleeping for more then 2hr periods at a time at night, and from Thursday-Saturday he did. I dont know whats up with him now.

It's possibly just the healing of things, Justine. You know how they say it gets worse before it gets better, maybe? I hope it settles down. Maybe chilled juices would soothe a little.

I had my adenoids out when I was either 4 or 5 yrs old... I have no recollection other than dad taking me home in the car and I cried all the way because the car was sooooo loud (i had zero hearing before I got them out, hence the need for it).

If you're at all worried, could you call your doc for advice? I'd like to imagine it's just post-op healing though. KUP.

Ditto!!

I hope his sensitivity in his mouth now is nothing serious... still I hope there is a follow up appointment scheduled with the doctor. It couldn't hurt to take a look in there and make sure nothing's infected.

Ya the ENT we go to likes to seen his patients back a week after surgery. He goes in tomorrow at 10am PST.

I hope its not an infection. The ENT said they would give us an antibiotic when we left the hospital, and when we were signing discharge papers I only saw one for the pain meds so I asked the nurse and she said that the ENT for got to order the antibiotics and said oh well about them.

OMG, I can't believe they were so cavalier about antibiotics...I thought it was standard procedure after things like this?

Poor Seamus. KUP on the results of the ENT follow up app't.

nope antibiotics aren't standard after surgery. In the past we have over killed the use of them and now we are creating super bugs....so we are backing off. No giving them unless there is proof of an infection, no more "just in cases".

Days 3-5 post op are usually the worst because all the great drugs are out of your system and your starting to test the boundries a little with what you can/can't do/eat. I hope it just that an nothing serious! for you and your little man!

Dh ended up taking him cause I was too scared to go with how I felt this morning. The ENT said its normal for kids to act this way at this point and he will for a few more days to come. He said that the nerve endings from where the tonsils were are starting to show and it hurts no matter what the person eats or drinks. He said just keep giving him pain meds or Tylenol(which we are out of). We have to watch the back of his throat(you know how hard that is in a 2yr old?) to make sure the white spots from where the tonsils were go away and it turns pink again.
