My ovary is gonna be a goner
It has cysts all over it. There is one larger one, about 3cm---ok so that's not big when I think back to having a tumor the size of a cantelope but still its not tiny----and then there are 3 or 4 surrounding that one and then I have one on my cervix as well and something on my uterus that the tech thinks is scaring or calsification. I go to my gyno tomorrow at 2:30

I'm a lurker. And I saw your post. There's nothing they can do? I had cysts on my ovaries and they gave me medicine to help. Then I had one removed because it was the size of an orange and was strangling my ovary. They said my ovary was almost dead b/c of the lack of oxygen. I hope you doctors appointment goes well tomorrow. I will pray that they can find an alternative method to fixing the cysts. Sometimes birthcontrol can help. I have some scarring too, and they found that it wasn't too bad of scarring. I hope that everything works out! OH and your photography is gorgeous!

I'm sorry Missy. There are some surgeons that save as much as they can. One doctor took my sisters ovary out, but another doctor scraped the other one off so she could at least have hope for children some day. Maybe you'd be a candidate for scraping.

That's sucks! I would probably try to find a doctor who would do what they could not to remove the ovary as well.

I've been scraped once already. I was told by 2 doctors, and one consulted with a....oh crap what are they called....fertility endocrinologist? anyway one of those guys who specialize in ovarian surgery and they said that I was not a candidate for ovarian repair since it would be my third go around. I am going to try and persuade my dr to perhaps schedule a laproscopy and laser the adhesions again and at least give me a little time to get the money saved up for an egg retrieval and one year of freezing. Then if he could just take out my ovary, I could still keep my uterus and all would be well. That had been my plan back in the spring, but I didn't have all these cysts then I got scared when she found the spot on my uterus....actually I found it! I said, "uh....what is that dark spot on myuterus that shouldn't be there?" She measured it and thinks it is just scarring, but I dunno. It wasn't there before. Then she found one on my cervix....there has never been one there either. I was afraid of cancer, but she said that they were water filled and not solid. Nothing was found in the spring when I had my last u/s. And I just realized I totally forgot to have my lab work done! The lady at the registration desk never gave me my paper work for it and never registered me for it. Crap! I can't believe I forgot that! Oh well, I will get it done before my appt. tomorrow and he can have the results next week. Geesh, I'm a dummy! See....I think it is affecting my brain! I can't think, can't remember.....something has got to give!

I had numerous cysts & a lesion on my cervix before my 1st pg... actually I had cysts, wet on BCP for 3 yrs which cleared it up entirely, came off - got them back and a lesion, got pg, had a mc & then have not had a recurrence of them since... Have they checked your androgen levels? Sometimes cysts are caused by elevated androgen levels & they can do keyhole surgery & poke a million (maybe not THAT many) little holes in your ovaries which causes your androgen level to drop for some reason & the cysts are gone.... Just a thought. I know there are many types of cysts & reason they develop - so I am not claiming to know your history enough to say - but I do know there are many different option out there & if you want to keep your ovary - make SURE your Dr knows that & that you get a 2nd & 3rd opinion on your options FIRST. I wish you all the best & pray they find a good solution for you!

My cysts are caused by adhesions. They are normal cysts they just dont dissolve away because of the adhesions. All my levels are fine....they have been check and checked and checked....by numerous dr's. BUT...I saw my gyno today and things aren't as bad as I thought!
UPDATE:
Ok so I went in today. He came in and said my U/S was normal. I said normal except for the cysts. And he said, "You know those are normal....don't you?" And Is aid uh no....and he thought I did. He said the small ones everyone has. That's how we get estrogen. The larger one is just my eggie escaping! Yes that's right my egg is gonna make it this month! That's why I'm not used to seeing them HAHAHAHAHA! He said that the only way to fix my painis to remove the ovary and/or scrape out my lining. Neither of those can be done when you are wanting another child. He asked if my RE had given me other options. I told him about freezing eggs and he turned around real fast and said, "DO IT! Then we'll take it out!!!!!" So.....I'm going to call my RE on monday and find out the cost of JUST freezing my eggs....eggs only. No embryo or anything yet. But first he told me this:
Call the RE and see how much just eggs will cost.
Set up an appt. to get another HSG (it reduces inflammation and stuff)
See if the RE will do a laproscopic egg retrieval and clear out some adhesions at the same time (this could possible cause the ins. to pay for it all lol)
See if he can refer me to that special ovary dr to see if ovarian repair could work.
If none that happens then I am to call him back and we'll schedule an appt for December to have a laproscopy done to laser out some more adhesions. Won't help fertility, but it will help pain and perserve my ovary a bit longer.

Well I get to keep them for a little while. I actually was at the point of begging lol and the dr was laughing. He said he was going to refuse to take them out until after I turned 30....the orig. plan. UNLESS I freeze the eggs. But that's a big if. I'm not sure on the cost. Ins. pays the cost of the meds, but not the retrieval. I'm gonna talk to the RE to see if he can do it laproscopically and clear out the adhesions too. That would REALLY help!
