Anyone watching the famous Red River Shootout between OU and Texas?. We watch it every year and Dallas is PACKED. I cant drive anywhere and Dallas is not a small city! Dallas is considered a neutral point since OU is about 4 hours from here and UT/Austin about 5 hours. Fans here are typically torn and since it so close, people FLOOD into the city to watch the games

Quote:
The series is considered one of the greatest rivalries in American sports.[1] The name is derived from the Red River that forms part of the boundary between the U.S. states of Texas and Oklahoma. The game originated in 1900, while Oklahoma was still a United States territory and the Oklahoma campus was still in Oklahoma Territory.[2] Until the 2005 meeting, the 100th meeting between the schools, the game was called the Red River Shootout.[/b]
My feelings on the topic are below

Are you kidding! I left work last night from Denton on 380-- not a heavily traveled road, but it does cross the Tollway towards Frisco. It was insanely packed!

Hey when we get pregnant Michelle, we HAVE to go shopping! They are opening a BRU right near me in Allen about 7 miles down the road

Heck yeah! I get a discount too! I'm planning on registering even though I know my family won't shop from it since there isn't a BRU closer to them.

I know, all my family is like yours (and heck lives near yours!)

Walmart is really the closest thing for them but I have the BRU one too for those people that might buy online or want ideas if Walmart is out. Walmart doesnt have alot I like and Target is too far from everyone too. I really love Target, its in the middle for me but again its far for everyone

Is there a Target in Sherman? There used to be a BRU there but it shut down

Yes there is a Target there now. They just built it a couple years ago. I know there used to be a Toys R Us in Sherman. I worked there my Senior year during Christmas. But it did get shut down. I'm hoping maybe my parents will maybe buy some stuff from BRU since I work there, and when they come down to visit, we can go to my store. We'll see I guess. If that day ever comes!

I didnt know you worked there in high school!

We dont go to Sherman much since we are in Mckinney now and Target is literally across the highway and Walmart and Sams across the street. I knew they closed since we went there a few weeks ago to meet up with family and I wanted to go to Bru... I got directions and everything! It sucked!

Which store do you work at? We come over that way, especially to watch Rangers games and definitly going to Holiday in the Park this year

[I just ended that sentance in a preposition and I"m too lazy to re-word it]

I work at the only one actually in Fort Worth. It's in South West Fort Worth. Six Flags and the Ranger stadium are off of I-30 in Arlington. My is store is off of I-20 in Fort Worth.

Woot!!! It was a great game. Dh and I are both alumni so our baby will have lots of burnt orange. So far we have a UT track suit that used to be my niece's but I am sure there will be lots more we (or our families) will buy. They've got UT stuff at the BRU here.

This is what I can't wait for....when a college of engineering grad has a baby (my dh) you can get a free longhorn "Future Engineer" shirt. http://www.engr.utexas.edu/giving/foa/ Here's a link with a pic on there, it won't let me post the pic.
