I promised you pics! I finally found my cord for my camera, so here they are... The reason I've been MIA:

I'll start with a few Hurricane Ike pics. I know this is old news, but bare with me since I couldn't post them earlier!

The first few bands of Ike, from my balcony... pics like these are the only ones I got of the actual hurricane since it came through at night.

Ike produced the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen. Sunset, as seen through Ike:

The next morning. Sewage coming out of the ground. Yuck, I know.

My apartment complex got away fairly unscathed...

The surrounding neighborhoods, on the other hand...

Just trying to get around was difficult because of all the debris in the road...

My temporary "dish washer" while I had no water. He came in handy, it kept the dishes from getting all yucked up! He gladly accepted the job, though. Did I mention cold soup is disgusting?

Alright, changing gears. Then, I went to North Carolina. It was beautiful! I loved the mountains!

We drove up to Grandfather Mountain. I don't know if you can see this, but it says "Stay back from ledge. Supervise children."

But those kind of rules are just begging to be broken, right? Yes, those are our feet hanging off of the mile-high ledge.

The view from the ledge, isn't it gorgeous!

And I have to include at least one of my cute bear pictures. They had bears on Grandfather Mountain. They were so adorable!

And, while we were in the area, we went to see the biggest house in America built by the Vanderbilts, Biltmore Estate. Sorry, I just realized the pic is a little lopsided. I was just trying to catch up to my group at this point.

So, as you can see, though I was missing you ladies, I have had an interesting past few weeks! Hope you enjoyed them.

My friend works at Biltmore! Beautiful, beautiful place and Asheville has some amazing scenery. I drove over to Chimney Rock and took a dip in the Rocky Broad River in Batcave, NC while I was out that way! Absolutely incredible!

Lauren! Did you even cross the "swinging" bridge? That's too funny! Love your pics! I will give you the benefit of the doubt, though; it was really windy up there.

Is the viaduct on Blue Ridge Parkway? We went on something that looked a lot like that, though I'm not sure if it is the same thing.

Yeah we drove the entire Blue Ridge Parkway last summer. I never got across it!

Beautiful pics! And the bear pic scares me, I am so afraid of them. Bears used to walk through the backyard when I was a kid, and I had one growl at me, and that was it, I hated them ever since.
