So Lee and I thought we had our girl name picked out (Evelyn Leigh) when Lee told me tonight that he thinks he might like our original girl name better (Violet). Only problem is, we're having issues thinking of a middle name. We had talked about Violet Claire but now I'm not sure. I don't know if maybe it's just late and I'm tired or what, but it doesn't seem to have the same ring to it that I remember.

Help a gal out!

We nixed Violet Leigh because it sounds too much like "violently" when you say it out loud.

Here's our thought process on the names:

- Originally we liked Violet as the girl's name because then we would have two flowers, Lily and Violet.

- But then we got to talking about how this is our last baby and Lily's middle name is my middle name and we would want this baby to have some sort of name from Lee, so we went with the middle name being the feminine version, Leigh.

- We didn't like Violet Leigh for the reason mentioned above so we started looking at other girl names and liked Evelyn because 1) we think it's a beautiful name and 2) it has the same style and ring to it as Lilian.

- So we thought we were set on Evelyn Leigh but then last night Lee started talking about Violet again and how he might think he likes having the first name Violet more than having the middle name Leigh.

- Violet Claire was our original girl name but now I'm just not feeling it anymore. I'm pretty sure I like Evelyn Leigh better than Violet Claire, but maybe if I could find another middle name I like better, I would go with Violet.

As I started thinking about the flower name sib set, I think it is a cute idea. I thought of the name Rosalie. I think it is along the same lines as Lilian (a more formal non-flower name with a beautiful flower nickname). You could spell it Rosalee to incorporate Lee's name... or even go with Rosaleigh, or first and middle names Rosa Leigh. Then you'd have a Lilian and a Rosalie but you can call them Lily and Rose. What do you think?

What about other flowers: Daisy, Dahlia, Iris, Ivy, Willow, or Jasmine?

Rose was actually a name we discussed before we found out we were pregnant... and then we went and saw the SATC movie. Charlotte's daughters are Lily and Rose and from then on EVERYONE asked us if that's why were doing it, even though we had those names way before the movie came out.

We've gone over just about every flower name out there and Lee keeps nixing them. The only one he likes is Violet and he kinda likes Hazel, but still thinks it's a bit "fussy".
