I'm thinking about buying another baby carrier. I have heard good things about the ERGO but it's so expensive. I have a Hot Sling and he hates it. He doesn't like to be carried in the craddle position. He loves being held upright. I have a Baby Bjorn that my SIL gave to me. I have been using it and he always falls asleep in it. The problem with the Baby Bjorn is that it hurts my back and neck after some time.
For you baby wearing moms, what do you recommend?

I have heard tons of great stuff about the Ergo!!!!!!
Be careful with the baby bjorn because baby hangs from there crotch instead of weight being more spread out and its been causing some nerve damage and growth issues in the hips.

I have a Beco (similar to Ergo) and it's really the only carrier that Ben seems content and comfortable in. I bought a sleepy wrap which worked for a little while, but Ben doesn't get as comfy and relaxed in it as he does in the Beco. The Beco is also quite expensive, I bought mine used on Diaperswappers.
I should sell my sleepy wrap if anyone is interested, it's just collecting dust at our house!

I can get the ERGO at a local hospital gift shop for $89. That is cheaper than buying it online!

What color is your sleepy wrap? Is it easy to use? How much would you like to sell it for? I might be interested.

I have an Ergo and I love it, it doesn't hurt my back AT ALL! And I have really bad back problems. We didn't get it until Aden was older, but I still plan on using it for the next baby too.

My sleepy wrap is tan in color (I think Amy has the same color) and it comes with a brown carrying bag. It is a little putzy to learn how to do the wrap at first, but once you figure it out, it's pretty easy to use. It comes with instructions on the different carries and stuff - I don't know what I did wrong but it just didn't work as well for us - Ben just couldn't get settled down in it.
I think I paid around $40 including shipping (maybe a little more, the site says $38.95 + 5.95 shipping), I'd probably be willing to take like...I don't know $25 for it total (including shipping)? I am so not good at figuring out how to price things. We only used it a few times. I, of course, don't know how much these things go for used. And I want to be sure I have the little booklets that go with it. I know I have them, I just don't know where!

I have a Moby Wrap and I absolutely ADORE it. Here are some pics from this past December when Lee, Lily and I hiked up Crowder's Mountain:
It's a heavier weight fabric (which is perfect for winter time) but now that I am in Texas and winter doesn't exist here, I just purchased a Wrap N Wear - same design, just a lighter weight fabric. I was lucky and managed to snag one for $35, they are regularly $55!

I've been wearing my Ergo more and more. I'm even favoring it over my mei tai lately and that says a LOT! Definitely worth every penny!

Kate, with that wrap (the last one you linked, lighter material one), you can do a sling style as well as up right??

I think Baby Bjorn and Snugli are about the same...the snugli might be a bit crappier but overall they both suck. I had a Baby Bjorn with Aden, it was the "active" carrier with the extra back support and it still KILLED my back! It was terrible, I don't like the idea of the baby being held up by the crotch either, it just doesn't seem comfortable for them. If I had only known about the Ergo back then I probably would have done a lot more baby wearing!
Plus the bjorn is so darn expensive you might as well go for an Ergo or Beco or something like that.

I have a peanut shell sling and a ring sling a friend of mine made for me. Lochlann liked any position he was in but I found when he got to be a couple months or so he loved looking around and didn't like the cradle position so much unless he was nursing. I almost always carried him upright either facing me or facing out. My peanut shell is a microfleece and he stayed cool in it even in the summer. Of course since he started walking full time (at 9 1/2 months ) he won't stay in the sling at all. Now Liam uses it as a blanket or to carry around his "baby lamb" stuffed animal.
ETA: We had a Snugli when Liam was little and it was horrible. I never carried him in that but DH did some. When we would get home from walks his legs would be colder than the rest of his body from just hanging there. Definitely a carrier that supports the weight better is a must!
