Oliver hardly ever looks at me. When I nurse him he never has looked/stared at me. It's making me sad. I feel like he doesn't like me. I know he does but I thought he should be looking at me all the time? The "books" say I'm suppose to be his favorite thing to look at. If he is looking around I try to put my face in front of him and he will usually look away or gets mad. However, today he did smile at me a few times while I was talking/singing to him. Sometimes when we lay down to sleep together we stare at eachother but not for too long. I just thought he would be staring at my face a lot more.

Reid rarely "stares" at me. When he nurses, he looks up at me sometimes, but more at my chin and not so much right into my eyes. haha. He only really stares at anything when he's tired.

Ryan took ages to focus on anyone really, he will more when his eyes are in focus properly and he can see close up.

Curtis was fascinated with faces, mine, James, anyones. With that said I think as long as Oliver is focusing on something he is doing just fine! He might prefer to look at other things, maybe certain colors or something. He also might be looking at a different part of you?

Oh Resi....don't be sad....Oliver will begin to look and react to you more as he gets older and can focus.....like Helen said, little ones can't see things real clearly so he may be frustrated that he can't focus on you...give it some time....but keep singing and talking to him...If he could say he loves that he would!!! (Cause once they can say it they will, they remember!!!)

I remember when Ben was first born he never looked at me while nursing - he still doesn't really! I just had this image in my head before he was born of all of these wonderful bonding moments of nursing and him gazing lovingly at me...yeah, it just wasn't like that for us! Ben has only really just started REALLY looking and smiling at me in the past month or so maybe. Even still, many times he really just wants to look at his hands and feet - they are his favorite toys right now!
