I love writing to you guys before an appontment, because I feel that it brings me good luck

Wow, I can't believe I'm 16-weeks already....but my fear of something going wrong continues. It's not as intense as it was a few weeks ago, but I still get nervous when I do heavy lifting or eat less-than-nutritious foods. I'm coming with a list of questions for my OBGYN tomorrow....for example, I had a really bad cold last week and I'm worried that all the coughing and sneezing somehow affected the baby. I feel like the world is filled with all of these hazards, and I can't help wanting to do everything right for the baby. Tomorrow I probably won't get to see an ultrasound, but there will be a doppler machine and I hope that this time it can pick up a heartbeat. Please wish me a good appointment, thanks for listening and I'll update you all tomorrow!!!!

Thanks for the well wishes Lash, the appointment went well! We heard the hearbeat on the doppler at 153 beats per minute, and what's interesting is that out OBGYN made a prediction of the gender based on heartbeat and symptoms. He predicted a girl He said that he is actually 75% correct of the time! We won't find out the gender until November 17th, which is about 3 and 1/2 weeks from now (doesn't seem that far off). I'll be close to 20 weeks, so we will get to see how much our little one has grown almost two months. Soon I will post belly pics, I haven't done so for awhile because there are issues with our camera....but I have gained almost 17 pounds....yikes, that sounds like a lot!

16 weeks already, wow! I'm glad you had a great appointment. Not too much longer till you find out if your Dr is right and you've got a wee girlie in there.

Glad you had such a great appt!!!! Yea for hearing the heartbeat. 1st time we heard our LOs it was 180. Based on the gender guide we have a girl too. I heard its 50% accurate- so we'll see.

Can't wait to see your belly pics.

So is guessing!

Based on heartrate, my mom was told I was a boy and my older brother was a girl. It's interesting to see if it turns out to be correct though.

Glad the appt went well! Are you hoping for one sex over the other? It will be interesting to see if the doc is right!
