I have to go to my doctor today at 1 PM. I noticed that my incision had some discharge coming out of it a couple days ago. It smelled kind of like pepporoni pizza.. Soo gross! I called the nurse today and she asked if it was red and I said not really. Well... then I asked me the tape is suppose to come of and she said I was suppose to take it of after 10 days!! I don't remember them telling me that when I was discharged! I thought they said it would come of on it's own. Damon remembers the same thing. I took the tape of in the shower and it is red and a little puffy in the corner. I feel like an idiot. I should have known it would not come of on it's own. Now I have had that tape on for over 30 days. No wonder it's red and has a like discharge. I wonder what they will do?? I hope I'm not in for more pain. It's a little sore already.

Wish me luck!

oh dear! I hope everything goes ok. Don't feel stupid. Steri strips are supposed to come off on their own. The actual instruction might be after 10 days or until they come off on their own, but i've never heard that. Maybe you are more gentle than most people. Hopefully an antibiotic will be all you need.

Let us know how you get on. I would prob have done the same! It's like plaster (band aid?), you would think if it's on it's stopping infection getting in!

I'm back & alive! I have an antibiotic to take. The doctor didn't think it was infected but gave it to me just to be safe. She said it looks a little irrated.

I'm so glad it's not really infected! The antibiotic should clear up anything festering in there. Hope the soreness goes away really soon!
