Oliver is getting his first bottle right now. Damon is feeding it to him. It's my breastmilk. We have to start introducing a bottle to him so that he is use to it for when I go back to work. I'm so sad. I just wish I could be a SAHM. At least it's breastmilk. I don't want him to think that I don't want to feed him anymore. On the positive side.. daddy is getting to feed him.

I know, it's hard My mom watched Reid today, but I showed up a bit early to pick him up. I tried calling her to tell her that I was on my way but she didn't answer. When I got here, she was feeding him a bottle because he was hungry. It bothered me to see, which is silly, because he's been eating bottles all week. He wasn't enjoying the bottle, so I offered to just nurse him. He ate very well.

He took it without any problems. He didn't even open his eyes. He drank about 2-3 ozs. So far he doesn't have a problem taking anything to suck on.. nipple, pacifier, finger, bottle. I just nursed him without any problems. I guess the bottle didn't effect our BF in any way.

I'm glad he did well. I can't imagine how hard that must be. They tried to get Abby to eat in the hospital and she refused to BF or cup feed so we finally had to consent to a bottle. I'm just hoping that this little guy won't be like that b'c this is my absolute last chance to EBF for any length of time.

I know it's hard though I have no personal experience yet but unfortunately it's something most of us will have to do.

(((HUGGLES))) to all of you.

It's hard.. I completely understand.. This is coming from a mom who works full time.. Hang in there, it does get easier and it will benefit in the long run..

I'm glad he did well and goes back and forth just fine Hopefully that will ease some fears, or stress about going back to work?

I'm sorry that you had to do it.. but you did do the right thing! It's really good that you are doing it now and not rushing the process at the time of when you have to go back to work. Giving him lots of time to get used to the new way of feeding.. or option I suppose, since I'm assuming you'll breast feed when you are home or whatever??
