Soo... some REALLY insane things have been happening in our house hold. James is adopted and he is in the process of being contacted by his birth mom! He knew nothing about her, his heritage anything at all for until just a couple days ago. After he told his mom that he got a letter from Social Services (his birth mom got them to send a confirmation letter and a "contact us if you want" sorta deal), she went and got LOTS of information from a lock box they had here in town back before they moved and then moved back, back when he was 3 months old (Why he didn't get it sooner we aren't too sure...). Anywho, it had TONS of information on both his parents, their parents and families. It also had a gift from his mom and a letter she wrote to his mom a month or so after his birth. Just amazing stuff. Apparently she was 20 years old and just wanted the world for her son and knew she couldn't give that to him. ANYWAYS! That brings me to the name.
James' name given to him by his birth mother was Dustin Ray. He said to me today that we could do the DR nick name if we want, as he knows of someone that uses it. It kinda shocked me that he suggested using that name... but the minute I read it on his papers I thought it was terribly cute and kinda cool if we used it but I didn't DARE say a thing!
So ya. In light of all that.... his mom is in search of contact with him and he's reaching out BIG time... just need to get all the formals out of the way through Social Services (they can't contact each other right now). So we'll see what happens
Dustin Ray Kinda cute I think!!
That was a novel, just to explain a name haha

I just love the story, that is so touching. I think giving your child the same name will make it even more special. Best wishes on the future reunion!

He always kinda thought that his birth mom didn't love him and didn't want him and gave him to someone else. But it is SO opposite of that. He is just so shocked... so amazed. She wanted a Christian family (same values as her), she wanted the BEST for him. I mean she was 20, she could have raised him herself ya know?
Anywho He is just beyond thrilled. He loves his mom to death, and is a real momma's boy (good thing I adore her too hehe).. so for him to find another woman out there that feels the same way about him as his mom and to know what it is like to have a son and think of giving him up.. it's alot to handle! In her note to his mom she says she would always remember him, always think of him... and apparently it was true.
He says he has won the "family lottery" hehe.
We know she isn't currently married, and she has no other children, and she owns her own business I can't wait to know more about this amazing woman!
