DH and I have decided when this job is over that we would like to take some vacation and go to Australia!!! We haven't decided if we will do east or west side of Australia (leaning to east since we have friends there). Has anyone gone there before? And recommendations would be great! Oh and I am trying to convince DH that I NEED a new zoom lens for my camera for this trip.....so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I just got back from a weekend in Melbourne! If you like shopping, sooo go there! Lots of beautiful vineyards and we went to a wildlife place and got to see snakes, platypus, kangaroos etc. Heaps of fun! I've heard Perth is also amazing, although haven't been there.
PS New Zealand is also pretty cool!

Our first pick was actually New Zealand, then we looked up the price of tickets to get there. It was to much. But I WILL get there someday!

Yeah, it's pretty expensive - that's why we spent three years living in London so we could travel around Europe, North Africa, Iceland etc easily enough. Now that we are back in NZ we can't afford to do anything coz it's so far away from everywhere! You'll have to get down here one day, NZ is honestly the most beautiful country (and I'm not just saying that because I'm from here either!!).

I think the most beautiful places to see are the most expensive...and I'm glad for that. The more expensive they are the less amount of people to visit them and probably ruin them.

My dh would kill to live in Australia. We've met a high number of Australians when we visit Hawaii-- its one of the closest places in the US for them to visit and we end up making friends with tons
I do know things are much more expensive for some things as it is anywhere you go. They often came to the states to buy things like denim/jeans. They were happy to pay $300 for a pair of Levi Jeans
