Did anyone else watch Oprah yesterday? Well, I'm an addict and always DVR it. It was about amazing children, strong beyond their years. So, they played a video that had Oprah and Celine Dion bawling huge alligator tears- they had to cut to break so Oprah could get it together. If you choose to watch, you'll see why. It's the story of a baby named Eliot who lived for 99 days, and the video is narrated by his father, reading letters he wrote to his son. It is the most touching thing I've seen in a long time. But since this sweet baby (who had Trisomy 18) does get his angel wings, it may be too sensitive for some. I've watched it three times now, b/c it just warms my heart to see such a little fighter, and parents who loved him like they do. The Mom said she decided to be sad later, and celebrate him as long as he lived. They celebrated his birthday EVERY day. Here is the link:

If the link doesn't work, just go to Oprah's website and click on Tuesday's show.

I thought that as much as this video touched me, some of you might enjoy it as well.
Nikki

I lurk here sometimes, and I am so grateful to see this post. I'm not gonna lie I cried like a baby. My SO's sister had trisomy 13 and was a complete miracle, she lived to be 22 years old(one of the oldest cases) when the doctors said 2 months. We only lost her a little over a year ago, so I know how they can touch your lives in such little time, the most heart wrenching thing is we let 22 balloons go at her funeral...Its weird how things like that seem connected.

I saw this when I was pregnant a couple months ago. I also saw it on Oprah the other day. It made me cry both times. It's very touching and heartbreaking.

I saw this video a few months back.. And it did make me cry.. It's a moving story and I'm glad the parents choose to give him life for so many days.. Eliot is a true blessing and he is story as taught others that all life is precious..
