Had a Dr appt this morning

And it went just fine! My dr found the heartbeat on the doppler right away, 150 bpm. Whew! She found it right away and it was nice and loud. Also...I think it was a little more on the left side so hah! Maybe our baby IS on the left.

So baby is doing just fine. In 4 weeks, I have gained a whopping......1 pound!!! Dr said that was normal and I'm one of those thin people who will gain a pound here or there and really start to gain around 5 months.

Next appointment in another 4 weeks and I get to schedule my big ultrasound soon. I'm debating on 19w4d or 20w4d (the u/s place is only open on Wed). My Dr said it's better to have it later to make sure they can see everything (not speaking of gender, just internal organs and stuff).

I am relieved now, I'm in the 2nd trimester and heard the heartbeat! Now I will start telling the general public! (co workers that don't know, Myspace). Fun!

Welcome to the 2nd trimester! Once you get that second wind, are you going to prepare the nursery?

Shan, at your stage, my bubbs was mostly on my left side too. I could only pick up the hb with the doppler on the left. Now it's mostly on the right and I notice the midwife always uses the doppler on the right now too.

Yes, it is! I've been off it for 3 or 4 nights already I think. So it did its job and isn't necessary anymore and one less thing for me to worry about.

Sam, now I'm going to get serious about looking at what baby furniture I want, and also with Dh to start talking about names. I do have my crib bedding so that's a start.
