How DH and I told our parents

Well now that all the parents have been told I can share our method. We bought a Halloween card for everyone that said "To Boo or Not To Boo, That is the question." on the cover. And inside we put the following picture:

Everyone is very excited. I had thought about waiting to tell everyone but I just couldn't.

(I was a little upset that DH insisted on a costume with a mask so you can't see his face but oh well.)

Cute! Congratulations. I didn't get a chance to tell you in your other post. Sometimes I read but don't get a chance to reply because of holding my baby.

Cute idea!!! Are they super excited!!!??? I don't think you should hold it in from parents. I told my hubby (who wants to wait as long as possible to tell people) that I'm telling my mom and dad cause I'd have to tell them if something happened anyway - so if they'd know anyway let's just tell them. We put Harrison in a t-shirt yesterday that said "I'm the big brother" and went to their house and it took my dad a while to see it - I finally told Harrison to hold the shirt and say "look Papa". My mom saw it right away!

(PS I think your DH's mask is awesome!)

Reactions:

My Mom: I had spent the whole day with her going to a dog show and didn't want her dwelling on baby the whole time so we could enjoy the show. At the end of the day when we got back to my place I told her I had a card for her upstairs and ran up to get DH and the card. She cried and was super excited.

DH's Mom and Dad: We all went out to dinner together and after we ordered DH commented that I have turned into my mother and have started insisting on giving cards for silly non-card holidays (because that allowed me to smile while I handed it to them and not look too overly excited). HAHA. I handed it to DH's mom because we knew that we would definitely get a reaction out of his dad but we knew his mom would try to hide it and if she saw it second she would have time to compose herself. They were both in shock but very excited. They both have been looking forward to a second grandchild since their first one is already 7 now so it has been a while since a baby has been around.

My Dad and Stepmom: We went out to lunch together and again after we ordered I gave them the card. I handed it to my dad because I knew my stepmom would catch on fast (she actually already knew something was up). As my dad was reading it my stepmom started to elbow him (as if to say, "do you realize what they are telling you?!") They were all full of questions making sure everything is going well. It will be their first grandchild so I asked them what they wanted to be called and my dad said "Fred" **sigh** (And no that isn't his first name, it's just random) HAHA.

All in all EVERYONE IS EXCITED!
