DHs team (of approx 6 people), were told this morning they are definately to lose 1 team member.
They all have to reapply for their jobs - it's a certainty he will be the one to go as he has the least training and experience.
They will find out mid-December, and the person will finish start to mid Jan.
I'm devestated. We both 75% expected it to be him, but being told this (and now we're pretty sure it will be him), it's still a shock and such bad timing. I have no idea how we'll cope financially.

That sucks but don't lose hope. Maybe he will be alright but perhaps you can start putting a little budget aside to help out if it does happen. You guys will get through and if DH does have to go, hopefully he will get another job soon.

Fiona- I'm soooo sorry!!! (((hugs))) I hope it all works out and he doesn't lose his job!
DH and I have been hurting financially without "real" jobs for a while now, and we are living with family, hopefully not for longer. I feel your pain! And hope it all works out!!!! Thinking of you right now!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I think he's pretty much accepted it will be him. Call it gut instinct or paranoia, but he's ready for it. He actually hopes he does get redundancy so he can spend a few months with the baby & I. Which would be nice, but at the same time, I don't want him to get to used to being home, KWIM? He is lazy as it is Plus, financially, I'm not sure how that would work out. We're just paying the bills at the minute, with only a little extra each month. Given that Come March, my salary will be less than half, his might be zero.

I'm sorry to hear of this awful news. Do you have anything like unemployment pay in Scotland? I hope he is able to find something fast. Maybe there is still some hope that it won't be him.
We are just getting by right now too. Money is a little tight after having the baby and with me taking 12 weeks off.
