Ok, remember the Evelyn Leigh/Violet Claire/Violet Some-Other-Middle-Name debacle? Well, we've settled it. We want the middle name Leigh because it's the feminine form of hubby's name Lee, but we also love the first name Violet... and Violet Leigh just sounded too much like the word "violently" so around and around we went.
Well, we managed to work it out so that we get to use both Violet AND Leigh by choosing the name...
Violet Leighann R______. Our last name has two syllables so I like the cadence of the name as well. We're still working out the details of how exactly to spell the middle name, in the running is: Leighann, LeighAnn, Leann, and Leanne. I'm partial to Leighann, but we'll see. So YAY! for finally having a baby name!

I love that Kate. And what a creative way to get around her name sounding like violently. I wouldn't have thought of that- very creative! I'm so happy everything has turned out fine with Miss Violet. All those T&P worked!

Thanks, ladies! We are officially not telling anyone else our baby name until she is here - I totally loathe the stupid comments that people make. My Nana flat-out told me she hated the name Evelyn and I shouldn't inflict that name upon an innocent child, my friend Michelle said I'm a snob trying to be like Jen Garner if I named her Violet, and Lee's mother couldn't stand the name Delilah because in the Bible she was a "philistine" (her code word for "prostitute").
Hopefully people will be more inclined to keep their pithy comments to themselves once we've already named her and she's here!

I can't believe people said those kinds of things to you. Regardless, the name is beautiful!

I hate when people say negative things about names you like. I personally LOVE Violet. And It's funny that you picked "Leighann"...My Dad's Middle name was Lee so If we have another girl later on I want to have her middle name Leea....or some other spelling;s....
