It was on tonight, it was about home birthing. One of the women had to go to the hospital after she gave birth. Baby was fine, but the placenta didn't come out after a few hours, so she went in. The doctor treated her horribly! He was just a completely arrogant a-hole! Then he apparently called social services on her before she left, making social services go and evaluate whether or not she is a good mother!

Can you believe that? Maybe I am just naive and didn't know, but I had no idea that a hospital would treat a mother who chooses home birth like that. Is that normal behavior for personell at a hospital to do that? That just blew my mind.

I asked about this in the last thread, but no one replied to me... is this where the women have unassisted birthing at home? No m/w or docs, etc?

Fi wasn't this on BBC 1 last week ??? I missed it tho and was ticked off at that coz really wanted to see it !!!

I'm no expert Fi, but I believe freebirthing is with no docs, no m/w, nothing. Homebirthing might involve a m/w or some other medical expert. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

That is the one! I made sure I was home to watch it! I was totally disgusted with how the drs treated that woman! Freebirthing is not for me, but I understand where some of those mothers were coming from. It was a great show to watch! I love discovery health!
