I just don't know...Dane doesn't do it for me any more ! I think I am driving poor Brant crazy, but I don't know if I can have that as my child's name for the rest of his life. I still love Abby's name...but I had fallen in love with it like a year or so before getting preggo. I don't really have boy names like that...only girl names. The one name I love is Joshua, and Brant told me he'd let me name our son Josh but not Joshua. So we're still at a standstill. I've been pretty busy but when I do get a chance, I guess I will sit down and drag out the old name book again. Ugh...I never thought it would be this hard.

boys names ARE hard! I'm sorry you're not feeling Dane anymore... but at least you have a name DH is okay with, so find a couple other 'maybes' and when your son is born maybe he will just LOOK like a Dane, or a whatever... and it'll totally fit!

Can't you name him Joshua and then let DH call him Josh for short?
You still have plenty of time to find a name you're in love with, you don't have to settle

I know there is a lot of time...I just wish I could actually spend time doing baby stuff instead of work/school/house stuff. (And yeah, I'm not supposed to be on here, but I noticed I had forgotten to turn the 'puter off and got sidetracked!)

If my baby should turn out to be a boy instead of a girl, his name will be Joshua Nathaniel and we will call him Josh for short if we feel like.
Good luck with finding a name!

Thank you, hon! You know how blue heavy this subforum is, though, LOL.
I think I need to just think on this a while because Joshua doesn't quite seem right any more. I don't really like the way it goes w/ the middle & last name, and those are non-negotiables. I'm probably just extra hormonal so I'm going to wait a while before making any decisions. And, my MIL will probably give us more suggestions if she finds out we're not decided yeet. Yay.

Maybe you should just let MIL name the baby?

OMG ---- MILs!!! My MIL is like that! She so wanted to name our child. She told me a story before I got preggo that FILs mom named her first daughter... and I said right out loud to her that no we will name our babies and our first daughters middle name will be Mary after my mom... so now we're having a girl, and I told her middle name is Mary after my mom... and get this--- she's on the phone with aunts or grandmas, whoever, and says "the middle name is Mary, and that fits all relms of the family"... MY SILs name is Maryann, DHs grandmas middle name is Mary and another grandma was grandma Mary... I wanted to scream out "no its after my mom, not anyone else!" Love MIL but, seriously!!!
Edited to add... I think you should look through the baby name book or go the board here on Baby Names... theres some cute ideas in there too!!!! We had a harder time with a girl name than a boy name, but when we found the name we knew it!!! Good luck!!

I know it can be a little stressful not having a name you LOVE. My boy name was easy. We had it picked out before ever thinking about having kids. The girl names are harder for us. I hope you figure it out.

Boy names are hard. Maybe you have a favorite fictional character from a book or a movie you could name them after. Or a musician or something. How about Bono? J/K

Aww, Kyle, you are such a sweetie! I like Ethan, and Cade was actually one of our choices when we were expecting Abs. But today Brant told me, "Do you like Joshua?" When I said yes, he was all groaning about how he didn't get to name his son, blah, blah, blah...so I think he is going to give in. However, there are almost 4 months left so things could change too!
