OK ladies DH wants a Video Camera for Christmas---I know NOTHING about them. So I need some help, who's got what, what do you like/not like, heck what should I even be looking for!??!?!?!?!?

We ADORE ours-- its digital and doesnt require cd's, tapes or anything. It has an internal hard drive and stores it all on the hard drive. You can download to your computer, burn a cd of it, manipulate and make slideshows and movies
It takes pictures and movies. You can delete a scene right off the hard drive very easily

Well you have seen my video camera, which doubles as my digital photo camera LOL. And I know that it did not perform well that night but believe me when I say we LOVE it!! It takes very clear, great video that looks high def on our 42in plasma and you have seen the pics it takes, which are pretty good for a 2 in 1. It has the hard drive as well as memory card, zoom is great, and my favorite part is probably the touch screen controls. Invest in the extra 6 hour battery, it doesn't really eat battery life too bad, but the one hour battery is just not enough!

If you're looking for a super simple to use... elderly people could use it  video camera on the cheap... check out the flip! I was interested in it, and Resi actually bought one... so get a review from her! lol... they're like 100 bucks and the size of a pack of cigs

I will check it out but we are thinking a pretty nice one so we can video tape labor/birth/kid stuff and since thats the only way most of our family will see the kids we want to get a nice one.

Dang that is a good storage on it then!!! I just added it to Troy's Christmas list!
Now is it wrong to do a "private" movie while preggers  I mean he would get it and I would hopefully be in a big boob no bump phase! LOL

The nice thing is that you can delete instantly and do "retakes" if you dont like the footage

I think it holds 20-35 hours of footage. We filmed my graduation and then 3 weeks worth of footage camping and there is still hours and hours left on there. I burn two copies and then delete some of it too

I really do hope his parents get it-or at least money towards it!!!! And then I hope when I go into labor that its under 35hrs of total time.

I would do something nawty even with a big belly etc etc. It's for hubby and a beautiful moment. But that's just me haha.

I need to check this camera out, too. Brant & I have talked about getting one...I will not give him any suggestions and do anything like you want to do, though, Angela...he always talks about that kind of stuff!
