Today is my first day back at work. My plan was to go back on the 8th but I came in today for 1/2 a day. I'm going to work for a half day tomorrow too. Then I'm back FT on Monday. So far it's going well. My Mom is home with Oliver and he is okay. (I called twice.) Of course I wish I didn't have to work at all!
I set up a little breastpumping station behind my desk. hehe..

Oh Resi - I'm a working Mom too....and I remember the first day back to work after I had Harrison - it's hard, but it becomes really rewarding to see how independent and well rounded he'll become - Harrison loves "school" and its really neat to see him interact at school - his school has internet cameras so I can watch him from work on and off and that makes me feel better. Sounds like you are doing great so far!
Is grandma going to watch him when you go full time or is he going to go to daycare eventually?

Another working mom here.. I can understand what your going through. Stay strong, I promise it will get easier. I agree with what I love Harrison said.. It will be rewarding in the future.. Adriana is a vary independent little toddler.. She has learned so much being in daycare.. She just recently moved into the toddler room and she fits right in with the older children.. It's great to see her interact with children older than her.

I hate that any of us have to go back but we have to do what we have to do.
Anyway, I think you're doing wonderfully!

Thanks for the kind words. He will be with Daddy while I'm at work during the weekdays. DH will work nights and on the weekends.

How often do you pump while at work? I think I will pump three times.

It does get easier, though, and we all do what we have to do. I am already dreading when I have to go back, and my little guy isn't even here yet!

Oh Resi- sorry you had to go back to work already... wow time flies. But I think its good bonding time for your mom with Oliver, and you will come home from work and be sooo excited to see him, and him you!!! It will be good for both of you!!!
And how cute you have a breastfeeding area by your desk!!!
Oh and for Amy- doesn't pumping help your supply not hurt it? I just started reading about it! So I may be off, but I think thats what I read on LLL.

I *think* what Amy meant was that nursing is better than replacing the feeding with the pump. If you only pump it can go down. But, if you feed and then pump it can go up. I hope that makes sense.
