The appointment went great as usual and my placenta has moved into a great position so no previa for me. However, baby is lying head down but in a posterior position which tends to indicate long, back labour!! YIKES!!! Anyway, I will press on smartly!
I could not really confirm if she was still a girl though the doctor said it looked that way. The little one kept her legs closed pretty much the whole time so no pictures to show of anything exciting. Oh well!!
As for my GTT, I got the 1-hr done this morning. I got up and decided I would have regular cereal mixed with a little bit of honey bunches of oats and milk. All week I was beefing up my water intake and pretty much not eating anything sweet.
So I did the urine test at the OBGYN and it tested positive for glucose and more than a trace. I was a bit surprised but didn't pay too much attention to it. Then I go to the lab and get the sweet drink and am waiting for the hour to pass. I suggest to DH that I will probably fail because surprisingly I had more sugar in my urine from my test at the OBGYN. So he asked what I had for breakfast and I told him. To my dismay, he replied that the cereal in the regular cereal box is FROSTED FLAKES!!! He put the pack in that box when it was empty because that box was better. So yep, I was loaded up with sugar this morning. All I can say is GREAT!!
But, the doc said thatI don't have to worry about the baby's size because by the looks of things, she will be a small baby. And I have no other signs of GD.
Now, how will I get my midwife to not send me for a 3-hr test when the results come back. She's gonna make me take the test and put me on a diet. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How frustrating! I hope you can get your midwife to avoid putting you on a diet. Can you have the dr. write a note or something? They didn't make me go on a diet till after I failed my 3 hour test.

I'll explain what happened to her but will see what she says. I mean I don't have to stick to the diet but with Christmas coming up and all the goodies that will be around, I really wanted to pass the test.
My next appointment isn't until Dec. 23 so there's no time before the holidays to really get the 3-hr test done and get back the results.

I'll add the 32w pics tomorrow. That sweet drink is awful and I'm still feeling a little uncomfy from it.

You'll only have to go on a strict diet if you fail the three hour glucose test - the only prep you do for that test is just fasting the night before. Try not to worry too much, lots of people fail the one hour and go on to pass the three hour! *hugs*

I'm sorry..
I failed both tests when I was pregnant with Adriana and I was border line diabetic. But I never had any sugar in my urine, so I don't know much about that. . What was great was they caught the diabetes before it could harm Adriana and at the time Adriana was measuring small.. So, my advice is try not to do anything special for the 3 hour test.. You can't hide from the diabetes, if you have it or you don't. And blood sugar results is more then just eating sugar, you have to look at carbs and fruits and even milk. Yes, there is carbs in milk. There's more to it then just "sweets". And most women that have gestational diabetes don't have symptoms, they usually find out from the glucose test.
If you have the diabetes.. Stay positive and do what it takes to keep your baby safe..
on a funny note about the diabetes.. I had gestational diabetes and I had a small baby (6 lbs 15 oz's) But my sister on the other hand did not have Gestational Diabetes and she had a 9 lb baby and a 8 1/2 pound baby (delivered 2 weeks early due to size).. Funny how I had the small one and she had a big ones.. I sometimes wonder if the diabetes showed up later in her pregnancy.

Thanks ladies!! The whole thing is weird but I will follow my midwife's orders regardless of how I feel. I don't even have the results back yet but I just have a strong feeling I will fail. I plan to call her on Monday and explain what happened and see if she will let me re-take the 1-hr. If not, then I'll just go with the flow and see what happens.
