Started spotting yesterday (realized it about 5 minutes before the holiday ball photo I posted earlier, hid it well in my face huh?). Brown blood so I wasn't too worried and it was very light/spotty. Continued through to this morning and around lunch time it started to get a tinge of red in it. I had an appointment scheduled with my doctor for Thursday but I figured I would give them a call to let them know what was going on and they deemed it appropriate for me to come in today as an emergency appointment.
Doctor tried first to do a belly ultrasound and couldn't see anything so I went to get undressed from the waist down and he pulled out the magic wand. Measured at 8 weeks 0 days (should be 10 weeks 5 days according to LMP). No heartbeat. Last appointment I was supposed to be 7 weeks 2 days, and I measured 6 weeks 0 days (heartbeat was visable).
I have spent a lot of this afternoon crying. The doctor recommended getting a D&C due to the amount of tissue. I said I needed to discuss it with my DH before scheduling anything. It didn't help that when I got home and checked the mail I had an insurance claim from my health insurance for $747 from first appointment lab work (which I already got 1 bill for which was $277 but I guess that was the lab work they did in house). Looks like HSA insurance has screwed me. At this rate I will be paying my full deductible this year.
**sigh** I am still numb from the reality of it all. Don't know how much I will be around over the next few days.

Kati, I am so very sorry that you are going through this. As you know I was there only a couple of months ago. Please PM me if you find that you need someone to listen. I hope you can feel the big hug I am sending through this message. There is nothing that will relieve the pain you feel right now. Again, I am so so so sorry.

Your story sounds pretty similar to the way I lost Thomas.

Oh KAti I am so super sorry to hear this I just hate this for you, I'm sure it's absolutely devastating. I understand if you need to take a break from JM for a little while... but know that we're right here when you're ready to come back and we'll be thinking of you. UGH, and those medical bills on top of it all... isn't that just an extra kick in the junk!? I'm SO sorry. *hugs*
