So I'll be starting my iron pills tonight.

What helps to keep me... regular. I am drawing a blank as to what foods help in that department. Bran right? Can any one suggest a bran cereal that works well? Or like a snack that will help?

I've NEVER had this type of issue before, I'm opposite when not pregnant and regular when I am pregnant lol. If that makes sense and isn't TMI lol.

I just don't want to be uncomfy!

I also need something low in glucose.

Can you try just eating more Beef, pork, dried beans, spinach, dried fruits, wheat germ, oatmeal or grains fortified with iron instead of straight iron pills--which yeah tend to back up already slowed down pregnant women (tons of water, and fiber will help with that--but fiber causes bad gas alot of times also-then you need gas-x for that---its a double edged sword)

increasing your fiber will also help lower your glucose also!!!!! Do you like Oatmeal---it would be a great breakfast food for you (plus it is great for breastmilk once your lo is here)

Yup I love oatmeal.

I'm fine with doing the pills. If I have to much of an issue I'll bring it up with the doctor. I just don't trust my eating habits lol.

(lurking... as I'm not a grad >_>)

I eat a cereal that has 14 grams of fibre per 1 1/4 cup serving (only 4 points on WW) and its actually yummy. Fibre One Honey Clusters There are better "honey cluster" cereals out there, but this one is just so loaded with fibre that its worth not being the best

The cereal sounds really good. I've heard that spinach and oatmeal are good sources of iron.

I love Kashi crunch cereal, it has from 8-12 grams fibre in it and is only lightly sweetened!

Also, be sure to take a b-complex with the iron pills or you won't have proper absorption and the iron will just go right through you. Better sources would be dark leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and broccoli. Good luck!

I hear ya!!!!!!!

I'm not taking iron supps but am struggling in the output department I've been taking a baby laxitive for about 3-4 weeks now (It's like drinking liquid sugar *gag*) and that's not helping. I've been drinking more water, eating oatmeal, fibre, red meats, fruit... LOADS of veggies and nothing helps.

So if you find something... do share!!! I'm going back to my doc on Monday to see if there's anything else I can take.

Whenever I have "regularity" issues I eat a lot of cereal. Cinnamon Life is really awesome and delicious, also Raisin Bran.
