So Dh and I are probably getting a new digital camera for Christmas and we wanted it to double as a video camera. We figure we'll get a "real" video camera when baby is older (like elementary school). We just need video for short clips of baby taking steps, saying first words, things like that.

Dh was looking at a 10 megapixel Panasonic Lumix. I read that's what you used to have. Everything looks GREAT about it but Dh said he read reviews that the audio on the video function was really crummy. Like that if someone was more than a few feet away, it wouldn't pick up what they were saying. Is that true? Dh thinks it's a deal breaker which is a bummer because everything else about the camera looks great and he didn't know of any other cameras in that price range that will do what we want.

I'm trying to get my youtube link so I can just show you what my camera does...but my internet is crappy right now and not letting me. So if you use my siggy and click on my travel blog I am pretty sure I have my youtube page linked on it....95% of the video on my page are from my camera (the announcing to my mom she is a grandma and the dogs playing are NOT my camera). You will be able to tell which ones are-they are all from korea/china/india/paris etc. Check it out and then you can see for yourself.
Its a GREAT camera!
