Do you think we will actually get what they are thinking this time?

I doubt it.. lol They always seem to over do it with the forecasts.. But I do hope it warms up a bit.. I can't do this freezing weather for long.. I'd be happy if it was in the 20's.. Makes me wonder how those people living in Alaska deal with this..

But I do love all the snow on the ground.. so pretty... I went up to my parents house last Sunday and it was such a pretty/slow drive.. **That's solid ice on the road, it's about 4 degree's outside**

My parents drive way.. Luckily my Dad plowed the road.. This is where I usually floor it so I can make it up the hill.. lol I couldn't make it up there without my studded tires.. B)

Yikes! My mom's boyfriends parents live out at Wolf Lodge and I'm scared they will want us to come out and drive those roads for Christmas.

I've been wanting to go to Sandpoint for 2nd Avenue Pizza and dh said no way is he going to be driving up to Sandpoint in this.

I guess the press said the city de-icer trucks can't run when the temps are under 17F so thats one reason some roads are horrid.

Crazy!! You have a lot snow too! At least we are going to have a white Christmas..

I just went out and took these pictures 9:30 pm.. I'm worried that they won't be able to plow our street tonight.. The snow is already high and my little Honda civic might not have the power to plow the road.. More then likely I'll be bottoming out and getting stuck in the snow.. :/

Our backyard, you can see the trail that our lab made..
*taken at 6 pm when I got home from work

*taken at 9:30, 3 hours later*

Front of the house

SUV across the street.. You can see how deep the snow is getting and as you can see, the snow is still coming down hard..

My husbands, Civic Si, he had a hard time going down our street.. He barley made it (he has siped tires).. We can't wait to get our 2009 Subaru next year..

I'm worried about Dh he doesn't get off till 1am, and Post Falls doesnt' plow our road so I know its going to be heck. We have a 99 Camry so its not big either. I can't believe we actually got what they were saying plus some.

I hope your DH arrives home safe.. I'll keep him in my prayers tonight.. I can't believe the city of Post Falls doesn't plow your roads.. We are one of the first neighborhoods they plow, but I heard the plows are having a heck of a time keeping the main roads clear, so I know it will be a day or two before they get to ours..

I'm still in shock with how much snow we got and of course there's more on the way and another arctic freeze.. not fun.. And it's not even winter yet, I hate to see what the next 4 months bring us.. I just hope we get a Spring next year.. I was a little bummed out when it snowed in June this year.. lol

Well, I woke up at 4 am to start shoveling.. (My DH did is a few hours ago) and it doesn't look like I'll be going to work! There's no way my car can make it.. They said on the news that a Jeep Charokee that the news crew are driving in are getting stuck cuz the snow is so high.. I won't even try it in my lowered honda civic couple.. lol

Did you DH arrive home safely?

We'll I'm off to go shovel..

Its almsot 5am now and I haven't got to sleep. Dh got stuck trying to get onto our street. They plowed Greensferry but no side streets so it created a brum between Greensferry and our street and for some reason dh thought he could take it. No luck he got stuck. I had to "help" him and ended up falling trying to get out of the house because I coudlnt' see where the steps were to the side walk. The snow came up to my knees. Luckily someone from his work drove buy and pulled us out. We went to Walmart to get a shovel sense we didn't have one, and got stuck at walmart when we got back home there was 2 neighbors stuck in the street trying to dig out, we were lucky to get in then dh shoveled aroud the car. He can't miss work today we need the $ so we are hoping not too much comes down.

Wow! Please be careful. I pray that your DH will be able to make it to work today. What a morning!! I hate to say this, but I fear it's going to get worse, since it's suppose to stop snowing around 4 pm. And another storm is on the way. I feel awful that I can't go to work today because I work at the hospital.. But I don't want to get stuck out in the snow with Adriana in the car.. I heard the main streets (I live near Prairie, in Hayden) are clear, it's just the neighborhoods.. I also think many people are going to try to go to work and there's going to be lots of people getting stuck and so many accidents.. I called work this morning and they said one of my co-workers barely made it home to Spokane Valley last night around 11 pm.. She said the highway was awful. crazy..

Our backyard, it's going to be funny letting my dog our this morning.. She's a lab and she's going to get lost in it.. Oh and there's a step that's lost in the snow, so there more snow then that.. lol

The SUV across the street.. lol

End of our driveway, keep in mind there's a huge bump at the beginning of our driveway.. so there's more snow then this..

My neighbors side of the sidewalk! I usually shovel this part of their property, but not today.. lol

ick ick 31-35" in the last 24hrs, and it still snowing!!!! We got plowed in too! Someone in a truck with a plow came down the middle of the street and plowed in all our cars.

They cancled dh's work today which means we are now out $100 out of the $150 budget we had for Christmas presents and we haven't bought Seamus anything yet

I'm sorry you got plowed in.. I plan on waking up early again tomorrow to assess the roads.. I know when the city plows our street, there's going to be a huge birm (sp?) to move.. I'm also sorry to hear your DH can't work tonight. I hope he will be able to make up the time before Christmas..

All of this snow is crazy.. I just can't wait for it to stop.. I just keep shoveling my drive way and it never seems to end.. The wind keeps pushing some of it back. I heard the snow is suppose to stop around 7 pm.. I just hope they get to my road plowed so I can go to work tomorrow..

But my lab seemed to enjoy all of this snow.. She loves to play fetch in it too.. But today her pink ball went MIA and she'll probably not see it until Spring time..

and a video

We do have a lot of snow.. What makes it worse for me is that there's a huge open field behind our house and with the wind, we had all that snow from the field blown onto the streets, etc.. It made it deeper then what was actually fell. I was able to go to work today, I'm just amazed on how much snow there is and there's more to come.. I hear we are only going to have two breaks in the weather, Saturday and Tuesday.. The rest of the days it's suppose to be snowing.. I wonder where they are going to put all that snow? I'm thinking fair grounds..
