Hey ladies - I had my first appt with the diabetes and high blood pressure specialists. It's going to be a bumpy ride for me - again! I'm more prepared this time. They are treating me as if I already have gestational diabetes because my sugars are already high and my BP is a bit high too. They did an ultrasound and the baby looks good - measuring 11 weeks 5 days - 3 days ahead of schedule. The baby was very active so they didn't get all the measurements they wanted but I'll be getting tons of ultra sounds. The heart beat was 153...so all is good there. They did see a fibroid or something about 1 cm in size hanging off the outside of my uterus - so it won't harm the baby by any means but they have to watch it....they think it may just go away on its own or stay small and create no problems - just one more thing to watch for. So good news since babies okay, but I really got to get on board with the diabetic diet (which is so tough right now cause I can hardly eat anything). I am also off the glucophage which upset my stomach and on glyburide which is a sugar lowering med I was on with DS. That should help with the tummy troubles. Anyway - just wanted to update you all....here is a pic from today - not the best cause its the best I could do with the scanner at work - but it looks a little like a baby non-the less, right!

I'm sorry to hear you have both GD and high blood pressure.. That's got to be tough.. I had GD when I was pregnant with Adriana and I was on insulin (no pills of me ).. But I'm glad your little one is doing fine..

Thanks ladies - I do feel prepared however, I have to deal with this many months longer than I did the first time, but its all worth it in the end for a healthy baby!
