In the past DH's Aunt and Uncle come down from Oregon and we go over to the Inlaws for Pizza and just hang out. This year there not coming out so DH and I are going to hang out here. Im gonna make Pizza, were gonna watch Peanut's xmas and open a present each. We usually get each other PJ's to wear.
Spend it with my fam-- my side, I mean. We always give each other all gifts on Eve, except for one present for day, and a new pair of PJs. This year, we're reading the Polar Express on OUR couch in OUR home.. So time to break out some wine and begin opening! I was REALLY blessed by my fam this year, esp. in a poor economy.. and it wasn't even the monetary thing, my fam was just REALLY thoughtful... Totally blessed..
Our tradition is to go to christmas eve service at church, come home to a huge ham dinner my mom makes, then open our stockings and watch movies until my sister falls asleep on the couch! It's great.
When I lived at home with my folks, we used to go to the midnight xmas eve service. But since moving here, I haven't done that. DH & I chilled out, watched movies, played computer games, and just relaxed. TBH I haven't got the energy just now for doing too much!
It depends on where we're going to spend Christmas. If we're with my family we gather with extended family on Christmas Eve and open all of those gifts that night. We eat dessert together.
*The people who are staying the night in that house save their gifts to each other for Christmas morning.
We go to my husband's aunt and uncle's house for dinner and this year we went to a church service at 9:00. I really enjoyed getting to go to the church service this year. Last year we didn't make it because Dh's cousin was in from out of town and her kids ended up doing a Christmas play for us. Which was fine except the cousin was playing a pregnant Mary and she was due right close to when I would have been due with Thomas. So long story short, last Christmas was really tough for me last year. I feel really blessed that this Christmas I was feeling my son move around inside me...best gift ever!
