I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Kenny Chesney song "Don't Blink", but the lyrics are as follows:

"I turned on the evening news
Saw a old man being interviewed
Turning a hundred and two today
Asked him what's the secret to life
He looked up from his old pipe
Laughed and said "All I can say is."

Don't blink
Just like that you're six years old and you take a nap and you
Wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife
Don't blink
You just might miss your babies growing like mine did
Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half"
Of fifty years is there in bed
And you're praying God takes you instead
Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster than you think
So don't blink

I was glued to my tv when it looked like he looked at me and said
"Best start putting first things first."
Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand
You can't flip it over and start again
Take every breathe God gives you for what it's worth

So I've been tryin' ta slow it down
I've been tryin' ta take it in
In this here today, gone tomorrow world we're livin' in

Trust me friend a hundred years goes faster then you think
So Don't blink

Naw, don't blink
Life Goes Faster Than You Think"
---------------------------------------------------------------

So, tonight, I was talking with my Great Aunt about things, just chitchatting, and I mentioned how excited I was to sleep on our Egyptian Cotton sheets tonight {I got a great deal on Black Friday}. She asked how they felt. I said, "I don't know, I was waiting til Christmas Eve to put them on the bed".

She looked really puzzled and asked me why.

I said, "Well, they're special sheets, so I was waiting until a special night to use them."

She said to me, "Shelley, how did you know Mike wouldn't get in a car wreck on the way home from work last week and die?" I told her I didn't, but I said it's something I worry about constantly.

"Well, if you remember nothing else I've ever told you, Remember This: If you have something special to use, use it. Don't wait for some arbitrary day, because you never know how many more God has left for you. Trust me, if I could go back in time 70 years, I would live my life more like that."

Is it any wonder I can't wait to cruise with her and the other ladies??

Please take the time to slow down tomorrow and enjoy your family and the moments around you. I was completely at a loss for words. Merry Christmas ladies!!
