Ok, So I'm done with packing mostly.

I've got a pull-along mini suitcase and a smaller bag. I've put my labour things in the smaller bag:

LABOUR BAG:
For me:
nightdress for wearing through labour/delivery if the gowns are uncomfy, or for after, or whatever lol
a pack of babywipes for me
pack of maternity towels for after delivery
toiletries/deodorant
breast pads
nursing bra
clean top

For baby:
2 x vests
2 x sleepsuits
hat
2 x nappies

HOSPITAL BAG:
For me:
toiletries
2 x joggy bottoms
1 x hooded overtop
1 x vest top
1 x long sleeved top (front opening)
2 x PJs
maternity towels
underwear

For baby:
3 x sleepsuits
3 x vests
hat
scratch mits
bibs
2 x muslins
1 x socks (don't think they'll be needed as I have sleepsuits)
a pack of nappies

Need to get:
more tops for me, I know the hosp here is always soooo hot
2 x PJs to keep at home for DH to take in should I need them

In the car seat for coming home:
Baby's coming home outfit
Snowsuit
Shawl or my knitted blankie

Looks good. Did you add your birthing ball?

I didn't end up using 90% of the items I brought with me. It's always better to over pack than over pack.

Great job packing early Fi!!! I think you've got plenty of clothes for both you and baby that's for sure! We only brought two clothing items for baby b/c our hospital provided diapers, hats, shirts and blankets while we were there! The time at the hospital went by so fast and your really just laying there in your nightie and baby in blanket the whole time!

Here are a few things that I packed....and some of these may be what you have already (I'm not sure what maternity towels are?)

- things to do while waiting to have baby - books, magazines, pregnancy journal, ipod, etc. this was especially important for DH (although there was a tv in the delivery room)

- snackies for DH (and for me for after - the hospital family room had good snacks but its nice to have the things exactly as you like them)

- tons of feminine pads - big huge heavy ones - the hospital also provided pads with built in cooling stuff - it was very nice for the vj after squeezing out another human being HE HE HE

I think that was it that I brought.....oh and we brought champange which the nurses said they let people sneak in for a little after birth celebration

CAMERA!!!! and extra batteries or camera charger lol. You do NOT want the camera battery to go dead at that moment!!

I'd also bring a book, crossword puzzles, magazines... things to do if the wait gets long (for you or anyone else).

Granola bars, bottled water, maybe some fruit...

Extra socks, or slippers for you, I have heard some girls say that their socks got wet (I don't want to think about how... lol).

Maternity towels = feminine pads.

I've got magazines, snacks and the camera on the list as well, I have a few mags in already which I forgot about. Snacks & Camera will go in closer to the time.

DH will prob take his PSP to play games on.

Chapstick is good to have because your lips/mouth will get pretty dry.

Breath mints--you and dh and whoever else may not be able to brush teeth when you want to and with people in your face you may want them to pop one!

I don't know if you have access to a shower for labor purposes but if you do a bathing suit for dh would be a good idea so he could get in with you to massage your back or whatever you want him to do.

Whatever you do don't forget your camera!!!!! We forgot ours when we went to have Liam and figured since this was my first baby there would be plenty of time to wait til the gift shop opened at 10am for my mil to run down and get one. He was born at 9:49am--after only 6 hours 49 minutes of labor.

Totally sneak in some granola bars/other food because you will get hungry and they won't let you eat!

The heating pad I mentioned in my birth story was an absolute LIFESAVER for me to get through labor!! So I would reccomend that, although you might not have back labor like I did.

Another thing that I packed without knowing how much I would love having it, was one of those sleep masks to block out the light. I got it for like $3 at the pharmacy and it was so awesome to have, it helped me be able to take naps during labor and afterwards when I had been up at night with the baby.

A nice big long robe!!! This came in SOO handy for me I got a really big black one that worked perfectly, I'm going to use it again and of course have been using it all the time since hehe. That and some nice slippers but not so nice that if they get ruined you would be sad haha. Just comfy but not really nice ya know??
