We are hosting a mini New Years Eve party this year. We did the same thing last year with the same people. I know there will be lots of questions if I am not drinking, since I did so last year. I used a FRER this am (11 DPO) and it was a BFN. If I test tomorrow again at 12dpo and it is negative, could I just assume I am not preggo and continue on with the festivities? I've been stalking the new Sept DDC and it seems like most ladies are getting BFP's between 10-12 dpo, and there is already a couple ladies with the same DD that I would have. I'm not even getting a faint line. No pregnancy signs or impending AF signs. I normally have a 14 day LP.
Trust me, I would do ANYTHING to be pregnant this cycle... I just wish I could know. I wouldn't do anything to risk harming a baby, but it seems silly to not partake in the celebration if I am not.
ETA: I forgot to add that I am not completely sure about my O date. The OPKs might or might not have been true positives.

I was checking your chart to see what it looks like but it appears you stopped temping (though I don't know too much about charting) so I'm not sure how to respond. Some persons get their BFPs after 10-12 DPO so it's difficult to say that if you don't get it by tomorrow you are out especially considering you have a 14d LP.
I hope someone else can offer more insight than I can. Of course I wish you all the best this cycle.

Thanks Mari for the response. I had to stop temping because I had the flu and had a high fever for the whole time around O time... figures!

Hmmmmm....since you had the flu you could probably use the traditional excuse that you're on medication and can't drink.

ALOT of women drink before they know they are pregnant. If you really want to have a drink (assuming you still get a BFN) I don't see how 1 or 2 will be a problem. I think you're chances are very good this month. Maybe you are just one that gets a BFP later.

It's still too early to know for sure. I got a BFN at 11 DPO. I waited until 16 DPO before I got my BFP. I think you are okay to have a couple glasses of wine. I just wouldn't get trashed or drink hard liquor.

I'd say you are okay to drink, just drink moderately.

I think your chances are pretty good, too! I would say either dont drink or just have 1 or so.

Good luck! I know its different for everyone but I will tell you that I had NO IDEA I was pregnant with my son and was going on a 60+day cycle and went out and got trashed two nights in a row (I being the night before I had blood drawn and one being the night that I had blood drawn) and this was the blood that showed I was pregnant. My son turned out just fine and is a thriving 2 1/2 year old. I would say you are safe to have a few drinks! But I hope it turns out that you can't drink more longer!!!

Resi, you give me hope!
Thanks everyone for taking time to reply. It means the world to me! I think I will go ahead and have one glass of champagne at midnight. It's just a little get together anyway... I never get trashed anymore, even without being possibly pregnant. We are just hanging around our house, having dinner and dessert, and lighting some fireworks at midnight. I'm sure I'm over thinking things (as usual)

Just wanted to throw out there the possibility that you may have Oed later since you were sick. If you had the flu and you're not 100% sure about your OPKs, then there is always the possibility that your body ovulated later - which would mean it would take longer to get a BFP.
I hope you're pregnant, Jessie!

I would drink but not out of control. Mother nature does a great job on this one....embryo doesn't get your blood supply till the placenta is fully formed so light drinking till 5-6 weeks preggers is not really a concern medically speaking.
