Would you travel in a car for at least 12 hours when you are 29 weeks pregnant?

My in laws in Chicago are hell bent on throwing me a baby shower in late February. My pregnancy is low risk so far and there should be no reason to think there will be a problem. But do you think I will be comfortable? I'm use to long car trips but not with this baby.

I would think you would be just fine, there are plenty of potties on the interstate!

I'm gonna say that unless you are able to stretch out and lay down across the back seat then NO!!!! When I was 20 weeks pregnant with Lochy we drove about 18 hours to go to Ian's grandmother's funeral and it sucked big time! Even with the frequent stops and my mil kind enough to let me put my legs on her I was still in a lot of pain and very uncomfortable. And when I was not quite 37 weeks with Liam we were stuck in Christmas traffic for about 3 hours and I was in the worst pain for the rest of the day. Of course I did end up delivering a few days later so maybe that had something to do with it. Both my pregnancies were very low risk too.

I would do it....I just asked my doctor about traveling (DH and I want to go to vegas) and she said just to make sure you get up (get out of the car) and walk around often b/c blood clots are more frequent in pregnant women. If you have no other risk factors I say go for it. I wasn't all that huge and uncomfortable at 29 weeks so you'll probably feel pretty good still - I think around 23 weeks or so when I was pregnant with DS we drove 9 hours to TN and it was fine.

I just drove 16 hours to WI and 16 hours back...on the way there I was 32 weeks pregnant, on the way back I was 34. Honestly, it's been fine for me. The biggest problem I've had was getting stuck in traffic while I had to pee.

as long as you are drinking lots of water, going to the bathroom every couple hours... and stretching too... I think you'll be fine.

I have Jobst knee high ones in black. I have worn these with every long flight I have ever taken. I also wear them when I do a ton of walking (like when I worked as a nurse) all day. They help prevent vericose veins also!!!! While preggers they also help that last trimester when your swell up to keep the blood from pooling in your legs.....I think all preggers should have a pair!!!!! I also have some teds. I am ordering the pregnant ones already from this site.....
