Yesterday morning I woke up to 15 missed calls with my phone on silent. Sure enough, my phone didn't come to bed with me the previous night, and my sister hit active labor. By the time I called my mom back, I wasn't allowed in the delivery room because Nicholas was so close to being born.
Nicholas Robert was 19 inches long and weighed 6 lbs 7 ounces-- just an ounce bigger than his big brother and the same length. Shortly after I got to the hospital. I was looking in the nursery window watching the nurses taking care of Nicky. Something went wrong and I sort of shouted at Mike, "What's wrong with him?" He told me nothing but I knew better. I spent the better part of a semester analyzing body language in college. Soon enough, I watched a nurse head to my sister's room. It seemed as though the baby had a loud murmur and maybe a small hole in his heart. We all have murmurs still audible to this day, and sister's DH knew there was some problem with all the males in his family and their hearts at birth.
The afternoon was slowwwww and I watched 2 babies be taken into the nursery and be released to their mom's rooms. I had to leave, but it seemed as though things were better by 11pm.
This morning, Nicky was transferred to Children's Hospital of Buffalo NICU {the same one DH and I were in together, with my neonatolgist as his attending}
He has:
-- pulmonary stenosis
-- 2 heart valves not closed
-- 2 heart flaps not closed
He is completely healthy lying down and falls apart when upright. He may need a stint or two, or he may be home within 48 hours. Right now it's a guessing game.
Please pray for him!!

Cycle #1-9 - All Natural....5BFN's, 4BFP's (all ended in miscarriage)  Cycle #10-11 - Met with first RE, diagnosed with heterzygeous MTHFR mutation & slightly low SA on all counts. -BFN, Cycle #12 - First IUI+Trigger - BFN, Cycle #13 - BFN Cycle #14-15 - Met with new RE, diagnosed with a blocked right tube that previous RE completely overlooked or didnt care to mention. Soy (120mg) - BFN Cycle #16 - Clomid (100mg) - BFN, Cycle #17 - Clomid (100mg)+Trigger+IUI - BFN Cycle #18 - Acupuncture+Clomid (100mg) - BFN Cycle #19-27 - 2 Soy (160mg) cycles, the rest all natural also 30lbs lost!! - BFN's Cycle #28 - New RE is GREAT!
