Please, just TELL ME what to buy as far as a complete CD system that will last me 6 months. I feel like my head is spinning with all the possibilities. I will name the baby after anyone that helps me and makes this super easy!

Good luck! I am waiting on someone to make it super easy for me too.

I can tell you my vague idea of what I'll be doing but I am no expert.

Newborn stage: buy some Kissaluv size 0's, buy some Nanipoo fitteds, buy some Green Mountain prefolds, buy some Thirsties covers and maybe some Bummis covers. Maybe even a pocket diaper of some sort or two. And Snappis. And wet bags. And a diaper sprayer. And cloth wipes. And wipe solution. Hope my Dh doesn't think I have gone mad.

After the newborn stage: ???? Maybe some sort of one size diaper?

we are doing green mountain prefolds with thirsties and Bummis covers (and snappis). We will have cloth wipes and pumpkin booty bits for wipe solution and two wet bags (travel and home ones).
I have a few used others that I will be playing with but the prefolds/covers seem to be the way to go for newborns I hear.

Prefolds/covers are definitely the right choice if your 2 biggest priorities are saving money and ease of washing. You should be able to get a stash to last til potty training for around $150 total.

I agree with Resi that the teensie tiny sizes are not worth the money. It's cheaper to buy sposies for the first few weeks.

All-in-one's are pricier, but are great for the diaper bag & babysitters because they go on just like a sposie. You can get them for around $10 each (nearly half price) if you buy them as seconds (minor manufacturing flaw that doesn't affect function--slightly crooked stitching, smudge of dirt, etc). Sign up for sale alerts at cottonbabies (see link below) and Swaddlebees outlet has B2G2 free sale a couple times a year. Most of my all-in-ones were purchased from those 2 places. My entire stash cost around $300 and I have enough to last thru potty training. She fit in size medium at 4 weeks old! lemme find the link for swaddlebees outlet and I'll post it in a bit.

If you're interested in the BG one-size that was mentioned above (these work on most babies), you can get them for only $12 each right now at http://www.cottonbabies.com/index.php?cPath=51

I've no idea but you're gonna have quite a challenge naming your little with all the suggestions so far...and I wonder what you will do if the LO is a boy.

I have a stash of tiny cloth dipes that didn't get much use - some Thirsties covers, one Bummis super brite. And a bunch of AIO/pocket dipes, too, I'd be willing to sell if anyone wanted them. I posted them for sale in our town and no one was interested. Just PM me if you're interested!

I also have a Sleepy Wrap (tan) that I'd be willing to sell, too, Ben never really took to it like he did to our Beco.

I just wanted to whine that Drake doesn't fit in his CD because he's so teeny. Waahhhh. He's in sposies for awhile.

Nikki I can't believe how tiny your little guy is! I know Phin just fit into his newborn diapers on the smallest snap setting, and Drake was way littler than even he was!
