The other day my BFF and I were at the mall!! We ran into an old friend of hers, and the started talking!! The topic of tattoos came up and the girl was showing us all of hers!! She asked my BFF if she had one yet, and she said no, she than asked me and I said yes!! She asked where it was, and I told her it was on my lower back!! She gets this awful look on her face and says "oh you one of those girls, you just had to get a tramp stamp"!! ***!!! First off she doesn't know me!! Second, I got my tattoo like 7 years ago, before everyone else got them there!!! Third, my husband doesn't mind it while im bent over I love my tattoo, I can hide it when I want to , It only shows in a bathing suit and I think it looks really cute that way!! I looked at her and was like excuse me?? She said well....well.....well.... and I said "we have to go, I have some tramping to do" LOL She is not the only on who has said it to me either, tons of people have!!! Im gonna slap someone one of these days!!

I have one there too and have had a few ppl say that to me! I doesnt bother me though, i know im not a tramp and i never got it to have "a tramp stamp" like you i just loved the placement of it, and no one ever sees it unless im swimming!! (besides my SO of course!)

I have one too, and love it. I also got it quite a long time ago, before they were really popular. But I've found a way to shut people up. I say, "It's not a tramp stamp, it's a bulls eye". People are so take aback, that they often don't know how to respond.

I have one there too (along with one on my right shoulder blade) and I still love it. I got it back in '99 (the one on my shoulder blade I got in '01) so I've had it a while. I hate the "tramp stamp" term, it's really obnoxious.

People come up with the most obnoxious ways to put women down. And women insult each other more than men even do. Who cares where someone else's tattoo is? Like it really says something about your character. I'm glad you made her feel uncomfortable for what she said.

What a B to say that to you! While I think the popularity of it and the number of people I know who got one there is ridiculous, it doesn't say something "bad" about the person who has one. If she doesn't like it, she shouldn't get one! Why tell you that and basically call you a tramp!? I would have wanted to clobber her too.

Clearly she is one of those elitist people who think they're so great for having multiple tats and are trying to say you're generic or something and put you down. She's an idiot. Yeah, tons of girls have tattoos there... tons of people have tattoos on their hips (myself included), their arms, their feet, etc. There are only so many places to put them... and most people want them somewhere that can easily be covered! She's just trying to be a tattoo snob -- screw her. I bet she only said it because she wanted to look hip by using the term 'tramp stamp' too so you'd be impressed by her or something. What a loser!

I hate that term and honestly its ridiculous. I'm getting my tattoo there as well when I finally get it and I need a place to hide it easily especially in the corporate world, and putting it on my arm or face just isnt an option

Im glad you ladies all agree!! Women have very limited places they can put a tattoo, Back, hip, ankle, shoulder............So yes all sorts of people will have them on there lower back!!!!!

Ok I totally call them tramp stamps,,,, but I love them! I think they are sexy not trampy (but sexy stamp doesn't sound as cool). But then I only say it to people I know KNOW i think they are cool. So now that we are talking about it....wanna show us it?!!!!!!

I got it because it was so girly like me, and pink!! Im so in love with it!! It's kind of a bad picture, but the flowers are pink, and the vine stuff is green!!!
