I had my appt today(been on 2week ones sense December). Kieran is measuring a little ahead but hes not to worried right now. They are sending me to an ENT(the one that did Seamus' surgery back in October) to see if thats why I've been so dizzy. Not too happy with my blood sugars, and he said I will deffently start insulin on Tuesday when I go see the Diabetes specialist. I've gained some weight sense my last appt 2weeks ago, still not to prepregnancy weight yet but close. My Bp is starting to go up, not horrible but this is how it started with Seamus, it was 120/82.

EKKK - insulin - oh my - I hope you do okay on it. So far I'm only on pills - they just upped me from 1/2 a pill to a whole pill and my sugars dropped significantly so I feel good. I can't believe that your BP is that good and they're saying its going up.....mine is usually in the high 130's over the high 80's and that's good for me....eeekkk. I guess everybody's body's normal is different. I hope the dizziness gets worked out - that is no good at all when you have a little one and a little one on the way.
I'm so glad to hear that baby is growing well and doing okay!

My bp is usually only 126/76 max. 2 weeks ago it was 104/64(or 54 couldnt' read the writing). With Seamus the second number started to crawl up with the 80's then 90's then into the 100's. At one point being 151/110(steadly for a few weeks at xxx/100's would drop if I had taken a Tylenol #3 for my headaches)...Its starting about 3-4weeks sooner this time, plus I've gained 7lbs in the last 2weeks, when my eating hasnt' changed and I still puke stuff up.
I was on Insulin with Seamus so I'm fine with it. I've herd of some issues with the pill. I see the endocrinologist on Tuesday, and I'm kind of worried at how many units of insulin I'll have to take. My FBS is always between 93-110...

I don't really know anything about GD... but I'm glad your doctors are on top of everything and hopefully they can figure it out & make your dizziness go away... I'm sure that's a nightmare!

I'm glad to hear everything is going so well.. Do you go to health care for women? That's where I went when I was pregnant with Adriana.. Remember to stay on top of your BS.. They'll probably start you off around 4 units and then go up from there.. I had to go on a aggressive sliding scale for my FBS, it took 32 units to get my FBS below 90.. If you want to use the insulin pen, Interlake Pharmacy is the only place in CdA that has them in stock.. I loved using the pen..
Hang in there...

Yes, the pill crosses the placenta and insulin doesn't.. But if you don't like needles, the pill is another good option.. BTW.. I had similar FBS numbers when I had GD and it took a moderate amount of insulin to bring them down.. Remember to stay on top of your numbers and bug your Endo until it gets under control.. That's what I did..

With Seamus I was started off on 8units of Humilin R then bumped to 10, and my after breakfast numbers weren't this crazy(I took the insulin before breakfast)
Yep I've been going to Health Care for Women sense I was 15 for my ovarian cysts(Dr. Penney) and Dr. Cutting is the main one I saw with Seamus and this time(who delivered Seamus too)

I'm going to be very mad tomorrow if the ENT doesnt find anything wrong with my ears to be causing me to be dizzy. I dont think there is anything my ears feel fine, but maybe there is I donno.
And I hope the Endo on Tuesday is nice I can't handle being yelled at for how we eat sense we dont have lots of $ to really buy the stuff I'm supposed to for GD, but we try.

I hope your Endo doesn't yell at you.. That wouldn't be right.. What kind of stuff do you eat? When I was on the GD diet I lived off of salad, eggs, turkey, chicken, cheese, veggies, and almonds.. I know it's not fun, but that's what I had to do to stay off of insulin during the day. I pray everything will get under control for you.. And I will pray that they find your problem for your dizzy spells..
btw.. I went through Adriana's baby clothes.. I have lots of sleepers that are 6-9 month and some winter outfits.. I also have lots of 0-3 and 3-6 month sleepers and winter stuff, but you may not want them since you have a spring baby.. But if you do, I'll be happy to give them to you.. As for 12 months, I hope some will fit Adriana this summer, but when she's done, I'll happily pass some on to you.. Let me know if your interested..

I'm seeing the same one you did. Is she mean? Last time with Seamus I just went to the building behind KMC for my gd meetings Dr. Cutting didn't think it was Carlea then, he said it was just the KMC GD specialists I saw last time.
I've been trying with all my might to stick with the carb allowences I was told I could have with Seamus, 30 breakfast, 15 snack, 60 lunch, 15 snack, 60 dinner, 15 snack. Sometimes even when I only have 20 or so carbs and lots of protein at lunch/dinner my numbers will be between 126-177...But my after meal numbers are very scattered from 109-144ish couple upto 177 but its rare. They are so scattered I don't know if she will put me on insulin during the day too or not.

I'm glad your doctors are making sure that all is as well as can be under the circumstances. I hope they figure out what's causing the dizziness.

I totally understand.. The GD diet is not fun.. And it's okay to cheat every now and then.. I know I did.. I saw Carla Gentry and she was super nice to me, considering I was bugging her 2-3 times a week about how unhappy I was with my BS and the insulin sliding scale she gave me.. lol She was great..

Just got back from ENT. He thinks the dizzyness is caused by something in my ear (inner) and wants a CAT scan but wont do it till after Kieran is born, so that probably means it wont get done sense I only have Pregnancy Medicaid and it wont cover that(and it goes up 2months after shes born), we can't afford DH's work insurance and can't afford out of pocket. I have hearing loss in my right ear, and thats also the main side that the dizzyness is caused from. The loss isn't too bad, I hear just over 10 decibels higher then normal on my left ear, and just over 10 less then normal on my right, so theres over a 20 decibel difference between the ears. So its basically wait it out and hope it goes away, I didn't have this issue before I was pregnant so hopefully it might go away.
Oh ya they checked my BP and it was 130/92 The ENT's nurse tried to tell me that it was normal, when I usually run lots lower then that(second number)

*smacks the nurse*......Next time your at the doctors ask them for a prescription for a BP cuff at home...insurance should pick it up--then you can watch those BP better!
That sucks about your hearing, hope it clears up post baby.
