So yesterday I babysat that little boy again, but this time I had him over night!! His dad dropped him off around 5:00 with a diaper bag full of diapers, wipes, clothes for a week, toys, bottles, formula, rice cereal, baby food and spit up rags!!! He also brought the Pack and Play, his bumbo, carseat, stroller, 6 blankets bath stuff more toys(that were to big to fit in the diaper bag) and a mat to change is diaper!! So I get everything set up, and I am planning on going to the mall with my BFF!!! I then feed him, change him, pack his stuff to go to the all, get his stroller in the car, get him in his carseat and 1 HOUR later we left!!! OMG it took me an hour to do all of that!! He was so good at the mall, we were there for a couple of hours, then went back home to drop some stuff off and then we were going out to dinner!! I was a little quicker at the house this time, thank goodness, but on the way to dinner he got really cranky and hungry, so we stopped at my friends house so I could make him a bottle and feed him!! We got to the place for dinner, and he was so amazing, didn't cry, just played with his toys and was very content!!! When we got back to the house, I changed him, fed him, and put him in his jammies!!! I held him and about 5 minutes later he was out!! I put him in his pack and play in my room and slept quietly for the next 7 hours!!! HIs mom said he would probably sleep through the night, but of coarse he didn't!! I wake up to him crying at 4:00am!! I made him a bottle, layed him in my bed and fed him!! When he was done his bottle put him in his own bed and there he slept until his mommy picked him up!!! I didn't sleep very well though, I kebt waking up to make sure he was still breathing!!I am so tired today!!!! I slept until noon I was so tired!!! I am now not going to be angry at the moments I don't have a baby, I am going to enjoy DH and my sleep!! Im also going to enjoy leaving the house in 5 minutes or less!! LOL!! I loved every minute though, don't get me wrong, it is just more work then i have ever had to do with a baby!!!

It doesn't seem like work when it's your own.

Once you have your own little one, you will develop your own routine.. It's really not that hard and you'll learn to operate without that much sleep..

That sounds like a super easy night to me How old was he?
I'll agree with Resi to an extent- it's still HARD, but you're able to put up with a lot more. haha.

I've heard is it easier when it's your own.
But for sure, enjoy your sleep. I know I was...I am already getting less now because of baby kicks and my remaining cat whining and waking me up.
I had a time when I was TTC and watching my 5 old niece (who was being difficult) and it made the wait a little easier, at least for a bit!

I agree with Resi, it doesn't feel like work when it's your own. It's your life! And that does sound like a super easy night. Lochy still wakes up a lot although I've started the night weaning process so it's getting a lot better.

WOW!! Only once at 5.5 months is awesome!! We were having sleep nightmare issues at 5.5 months.
I still think dealing with everything can be incredibly difficult, but it's just soooo different when it's your own. I don't even know how to explain HOW it's different, but you absolutely DO learn to function on a lot less sleep, that's for sure!!

Things are different when you start right at an infant and learn your little one as you go. It's hard, and alot of work but different when it's your own.
You can leave with in a few mins if you always have that diaper bag packed and the stroller in your car etc etc hehe. You for sure get into routines and such!

That's pretty good.. Adriana only woke up once a night when she was 3 months old.. That made it easy for me since I work full time.. I believe around 6 months she started sleeping through the night.. We've been blessed..

Gosh 5.5 months. I dont think I could leave my baby with anyone over night, haha....And yes enjoy your sleep! Thats one thing I used to love and miss greatly! Cambria mostly sleeps threw the night but even that being said I dont. She's in the pack and play next to us and every little noise I wake....And when I move around Im always afraid im gonna wake her....

I was thinking only waking up once and at 4am sounds like an easy night, LOL. DD was a horrible sleeper, she was usually up 2-3 times a night until she was 9 months old, and didn't sleep through the night until she was 16 months old! But it's a lot easier with your own. I actually felt like having a baby was so easy.

Sleeping 7 hours IS sleeping thru the night for a baby. I only WISH my 5.5 month old would sleep that long, lol. Sounds like he's an easy-going baby & you had a good time, even if it was tiring. I agree with Amy though, I can't even imagine leaving Alyssa for a couple of hours, let alone overnight! Brave parents!

whats hard is throwing nieces and nephews into the day - Ive had my niece since friday and its thrown off our schedule for 2 kids drastically!!! And yes, its easier when you have your own, especially starting from newborn stage cuz they cant move anywhere and tell you no! haha!

Sometimes it still takes me awhile to get out of the house and I have a 3 year old! I'm dreading next July when I will have to get up even earlier than 4:30 like I do now to nurse/pump and then get everyone ready to leave. You do get into routines, but kids can be unpredictable...you never know when someone will get a leaky diaper or get sick or whatever just as you are about to leave. You have to be more go w/ the flow when you have a baby/child...which can get frustrating at times, but you get used to it.

Angela- my bff and I always joke when any young girl starts thinking she wants a baby, she can borrow our kids, DD-5, her DS-almost 3, and her other DS-1. They will change their minds REALLY fast, LOL. It definitely drains you, although I forget what life was like without kids, it must be SO weird to not have to worry about another person.

He really is a great baby!! I was just so tired that I could imagine a baby who woke up more than that!! For now, I will enjoy my sleep, and my ability to up and leave whenever my heart desires!!
