I'm just curious if having no landline really is the way people are going?

Dh and I share a cell phone. We do technically have another one, but its under my dad's name and its a Nebraska number still and I dont like to use it unless its an emergency sense we haven't paid him sense June and owe him quite a bit for it.

We both have cell phones, no landline. But when we get a house and have kids we'll get a landline. I think they are more conveinent when you are home more. When I'm out running earrands and shopping and whatnot, I hate getting calls on my cell phone that arent from my husband/close friends/family. Plus then I can just leave my cell phone in my purse/charging when im home and not have to search for it when im leaving. I just like having a seperate phone for general calls and my cell for personal ones. But for now just a cell is fine.

I voted different combo just because we don't technically have a land line. We have T-mobile at home service for our home phone, which connects through the internet and is basically a cell phone and we each have a cell phone as well. It's only $10 extra a month for the at home service. If it were up to Chris and I, we would just have our cells, but the at home phone is for FIL. We rarely use it.

Chris and I both have cell phones, no landline. Although that may be changing due to an at home job, but it will be used for that purpose and emergencies should the cell phones not work.

We also each have cells and the T-Mobile at home because I'm a paranoid nutjob and I'm always worried about some emergency and not having access to my cell phone. However, it is RARE that people call the landline, as usually, if they do, we usually look at each other to figure out what the heck is ringing , and it's almost always always always the ILs so I don't answer it!

I had to laugh at this, I just got a new phone and I can't figure out how to download songs for tones like on my old phone, so it's just a little ditty on the phone. And Chris and I are constantly muting the tv saying "Do you hear that? What is that?"

different combo for us also.
DH has a cell phone for work, I have no cell phone, we don't have a landline but we do have an Internet phone line.
However Troy is starting to get all nervous about "what ifs" now that I'm pregnant so I bet he gets me one soon LOL. I have only had a cell phone for about 2 yrs of my entire life! I really don't care much for them-its like an electronic leash to me. I mean how often do real emergencies happen when you NEED one.

I sort of agree Angela, it is sometimes like an electronic leash.. It is a rare, very much enjoyed day where I go "off the radar" and stay completely away from technology but also, it's like a security blanket for me. On days where my anxiety really is high, I have to know exactly where my phone is, esp. if Mike is working late, and it's no more than 12 inches from me. Other days, it could sit in my purse in my bedroom all day long and I just don't care.

I think EVERYONE one of us should have an internet line (preferably Skype.com because thats what I have ) And then we could do calls for free and texts for free to each other---think how easy the stalking would become!!!!!!!

We have a landline and each have a prepaid cell phone for emergencies only. No one here is worried about the study linking long-term cell phone usage to brain tumors? It makes me nervous enough to never want to switch fully over to cells.

I have a cell. DH has a work cell and a personal cell.
We also have a landline and we have Skype (LOVE IT!) that we use for all international calls. We rarely use the landline, maybe 1-2 times per week. We keep it just because it is included in our package with broadband.

YES! ok go to www.skype.com and you can download the program there---its free and its not a a huge file (so that should make mike happy!). Create an account and then add me! (amsmall is my name). Then we can chat--oh AND if you have a webcam we can use those to see each other while talking---this worked great for me on the photography board because the girls could show me what they were doing on their cameras!
Oh and ladies we can do group talks on this!!!!!

I have 2 cells and a land line. One cell is the one I use to call other German cells and land lines, the other cell is for Chris to call me on and to recive text from my sister, and the land line I use to call the states.

we each have a cell. no landline. Though I'm thinking after having kids I might want a land line. Can you imagine your cell phone going off at work only to turn out to be suzie calling to see if little janie can play? It might be nice to have a family phone and answering machine.

Well I didn't vote because I will skew the poll. DH and I each have a cell phone on the same plan. But since we are doing daycare, we are required to have a landline as well.
