For the past couple days I've been extrememly tired even after sleeping the full day. (I work nights remember)
I slept all from 9:30am till 5pm and then got up. I felt very tired, but went through the motions of the evening. Getting dinner ready etc. Around 9pm I fell asleep sitting up. I went to take a nap and got up an hour later. Same thing happend almost immediately. Finally I gave up and slept till 2am. Now I'm ok. But it's not just a fluke. This is the second time this week that this has happened. It's messing up my sleep schedule and making me exhausted at work. Also my sleep has been extremely dream filled. Crazy dreams every time I close my eyes. I bet I won't sleep tomorrow morning... and I have to work from 7P-7A.

Is fatigue a typical AF symptom? Or do you think I'm just overdue for a vacation?

I always get like that after working nights for a while. Can you ask your boss if you can rotate for days for a month? I only work nights for 1 month at a time....sometimes when I'm on days I'll be thrown in for a random week/day of nights if shifts needs covering....but I think an extended period of working nights isnt good for anyone. I say go on vacation!

Sounds like me when AF comes! I get that way because my iron drops pretty drastically. Do you take a multi or prenatal or something with a lot of iron in it? If not, it may help!

Good Luck!

So this is pretty common I guess. All these things i'm learning about AF. HAHA I'm realizing just how much the pill hides things. I do take prenatals with iron. So i guess i'm doing everything I can.

About working nights, I've worked them straight for over a year now. I just don't like working days. I've never had an exhaustion problem before either... although it could be the mixture of working nights and it being winter. I go to bed and its dark... and i wake up and it's dark. It is kind of depressing. It gets better in the spring/summer.

There are about 7 nights a month I am guaranteed to sleep well.. Before and during AF. I could sleep alllllllll day and alllllllllll night if I allowed myself. Erin's suggestion does seem like a good idea!
