Okay, ladies, I've always had really bad menstrual cramps ever since AF has been visiting me since I was about 10 or 11 years old. A few times, my cramps have been so bad that my dad would give me a shot of Blackberry Brandy to knock me out because the pain was so bad. My dad was always telling my mom that she should take me to the doctor but she never did. All she said was that I was suffering from painful ovulation (umm, no! She obviously doesn't know!). Sometimes my cramps would get so bad that I would vomit and had to stay home from school. My mom even put me on birth control because it was supposed to minimize the severity of cramping. Since having both Edward and Preston, my cramps have gotten worse. I actually feel delirious and tired. And the cramps hurt so bad that it feels like I just gave birth and it's difficult to use the bathroom (even hurts to pee) and it hurts to stand up straight. What can I do for these awful cramps? I called my doctor and all she said was to take Midol and go to bed. (I hate her and I'm never going to her again for another pregnancy!!!)

I'm sorry you are in so much pain! That happens to me sometimes (I've passed out from the pain several times) and my cousin is in the hospital just about every month! The only thing that works for us is actually perscription pain killers.. I hope that you are able to find something to help!

osh that is horrible Brandi, I hope you can see another doctor and get help with this.
oil of evening primrose supposedly helps with the pre-menstrual symptoms, I don't know if they'd help during?

you sound like me. I've been told to take motrin or tylenol 3x daily starting 3 days before AF is due, to try and ease cramps in advance. the only thing that truly helps me is vicodin, sadly. even script strength motrin or tylenol 3 does nothing. I'd try and see another physician.

you need another opinion! Some women need pain killers for cramps---like the good ones. I would find a new provider to check you out.

That's what I thought. I guess I'm just one of those girl who has painful menstrual cramps. I'll definitely see a different doctor.

It COULD be a sign of something but you have had it soooo long AND had two successful pregnancies---it makes it less likely there is something wrong. I would still get checked out just in case.
