So I'm still laughing from my stool softener experience

I told 2 pills Thursday night and got relief Friday afternoon. I thought it was over. Then DH and I spent all day yesterday walking around the mall and shopping. All of a sudden I got this HORRIBLE cramp down there and it really scared me. I was holding myself and DH asked if I was having a contraction. I said I didn't know but I needed to get to the bathroom. So I waddled to the bathroom, which took me forever cause I could barely move.

There I am with this horrendous cramp and trying to make the best of a public restroom. The softeners caught up with me and I was sitting there for like 10 minutes! Afterwards, I was relieved that it wasn't a contraction but I was totally wiped out! For the following hour, I could feel the baby moving like crazy, more times than I've ever felt so close together. I just imagined him in there saying "Mom, what the hell was that?!?!" and "Hey, I've got alot of room in here now!"

Nothing could have prepared me for the severity of constipation and gas pains of pregnancy!

I know that pain all too well and it's a "get to the bathroom NOW" pain. But even before/during/immediately after going... the tummy pain is horrid. Now that you are "cleared out" try to increase your fibre & fruit/veg intake as much as you can so you don't get to this point again. Even drinking water and fruit juice will help.

Oh man, that has happened to me twice this pregnancy. Both times after I had eaten a lot of "junk". The 2nd time we were so worried I was having contractions, it hurt so bad. You feel soooo much better after, LOL.

Glad you are all cleared out now.

Man, I've only taken a stool softner once in my life... and I had taken it so that the 6 or 8 hours or whatever later that it was supposed to kick in would happen at nighttime when I was home. Well it never did, but I felt fine. The next morning Ben and I went to class and decided to get IHOP in between classes. haha I got the same thing you described, just a serious cramp and was in that little bathroom for lik 20 minutes basically peeing out of my butt It really does just HIT like that! I'm glad you made it to the bathroom and def. glad it wasn't contrax... that must have been pretty scary feeling unsure! That's funny baby is moving all around enjoying his space now and I'm glad you feel better!

omg! That's too funny, I'm sorry. I've never taken any stool softeners before, but I think that scared me away from them forever unless I am in DIRE NEED!

I hope you feel better.
