When I said I didn't want to be pregnant anymore, I didn't mean it!!

Yesterday, I called my OB and complained about the gas pains I was STILL having. She told me that since I've had the pain for almost a week with little relief that she was worried it may be my uterus instead of my stomach. So off Ed and I went to labor and delivery after work. They hooked me up to the monitors and baby was doing great, good heartbeat and lots of movement. While I was laying there, I was getting lots of BHs and cramping, but nothing hurt too much, well except the stomach pain. I was given an IV for fluids (though my urine proved I wasn't dehydrated). It took the nurse 2 tries to get the IV in a good vein. Later, the nurse came in and said I was actually having preterm labor contractions!

My doctor ordered Terbutaline shots to stop the contractions. I received 4 shots, 1 every 15 minutes for an hour. I HATED the feeling! It was like I took a ton of Nyquil. I was very shaky (being nervous didn't help!), hot/cold, nauseated, and extremely tired. The worst part was after the first shot. The nurse had to readjust the monitors because the baby had moved. She was trying to find the heartbeat and all we could hear was mine. She got VERY flustered and said "I don't like that I can't hear the baby's heartbeat over yours." and then she left the room! I called her back because I was freaked, and a different nurse came in help me for the rest of the evening. She found the baby's heartbeat again almost immediately.

ANYWAYS, the contractions stopped. The doctor said my original pain was my uterus not my stomach. And that it's just going to be a normal pain for me with this pregnancy. Oh joy, right?

What a day!

Oh yeah, and a not so exciting update. I have my glucose test is on friday and our 3rd trimester U/S is this Sunday.

27 weeks

What a mess! I'm sure that was all very scary and no fun for you guys! That nurse must not have children... my jaw just drops everytime I hear of a nurse or u/s tech or whatever saying somethign like that and then leaving you hanging. Clearly they aren't thinking of what it's like from the worried mom perspective.

On the up side, you're looking fantastic! Bump is way cute and I love your shirt too!

glad everything is alright and don't worry the gluecose test isn't that bad. just try to get it down as fast as you can!! I also had the Terbutaline shots when I was 38 weeks, my stupid doc didn't want me going in so early, even though it was 4 days before my c-section, I just hated it, too. i felt so drug up and loopy!!

No restrictions. I was afraid I was going to be put on bed rest though. I have my scheduled appointment this Tuesday, so I have alot of questions.

I drink tons of water all day, and the doctor remarked on how hydrated I was.
