Whoa, I am taking the PrimaCare Advantage, just like you!

I'm not understanding that press release though. What am I supposed to do? Start taking something else? I have some samples of another brand that my OB gave me.

Angela, I can try to call the number tomorrow and see what is going on.

I googled it and found a couple threads on other forums saying not to worry because the recall was only affecting wholesalers and not the ones you get at the pharmacy. I dunno.

the press release is weird thats why I don't know WHY they are doing the recall. I can't imagine if it was a dangerous thing that they would tell people to continue taking them?! Let me know what you find out!!!!

I tried to call earlier, but it was already after hours. I'll try again on Monday.

Eck! I took Primacare one when I was pregnant and nursing Adriana..I would be upset about this, considering the price of the medications.. I would be demanding some kind of refund.. j/k

Oh, if it was a serous recall, the pharmacy you purchased the vitamins from should be giving you a call.. That's what we did when we had a med recall (remember Baycol?) when I was in the Navy, I'm not to sure how civilian outpatient pharmacies work, I work in a inpatient pharmacy and we don't deal with that kind of stuff..

No joke! The retail price of mine is $55 and I have to pay a $50 copay. Thanks a lot, insurance, for picking up that $5 for me!

I like them because the stool softener has kept me regular and they have the most DHA out of all the Rxs (the reason I shell out the big bucks). But I want to be sure they are safe.

Wow.. $50.. My co-pay was $40 ($5 saving too, must vary state to state), but still that's a lot of money for a 30 days supply.. One of the most important thing about the DHA and EPA in Primacare is that it's medicinal grade.. Which means, it's completely tested for heavy metals, PCBs, furans, dioxin and other toxins. Over the Counter fish oils aren't medicinal grade and contain some of those harmful toxins.. That's why it's so pricey.. But it's worth it IMO.. Oh and your right about the stool softener, I never had constipation when I was pregnant.. Nor swelling or morning sickness.. I plan on taking Primacare when I'm pregnant again..

with why I picked it! But mine is $5 for 3 months worth. (trust me we pay enough in international insurance to make up the difference!)

I called them this morning. They said that all the ones you get at the pharmacy are fine. The recall is at the wholesale level which means that right now they are not shipping to the pharmacies. But it is okay to take what you already have.

She said the FDA is reviewing their processes. I asked what specifically and she said she said it was things like paperwork, package inserts and packaging. She said it is NOT a product safety issue.
