When your Dr tells you you will need to be refered to an infertility specialist?? I talked to my DR today and told him I did not ovulate this cycle on 100mg of clomid like I did last month, and he said he will up the dose to 150mg and if that does not work he will not up the dose anymore and I will have to see an infertility specialist!! I can't stop crying, this should be easier!! I deserve this so much, DH deserves this so much!!

How long have you been trying? It seems pretty normal I think if you arent ovulating to send you to an RE, because thats the next step

You're incredibly lucky, I"m on cycle 14 and just now able to get into an RE. Most of the time you have to wait so long and have tried for so long before they'll see you so I'm thinking its a very very good thing that they are sending you even if its not good news. Think about the months or years you might not be wasting if you get in now as opposed to waiting

I want to give you a huge right now and cry along with you. I ovulated late this month and it drove me crazy...so maybe you are just ovulating late too.

But earlier today I was stalking the TTC#1 boards. I don't really read there anymore, but I was a huge stalker last year. I went to the grad boards there for the first time to catch LaLa's update. It was my first time in their grads board. In the Lala update post, so many responses were from women I remember in the TTC#1 group from months ago. Almost all the ones I remember having stuggles of various natures...who had been TTC for months and months, are now pregnant. It was so nice to see. It made me realize that TTC can be a huge diappointment most of the time, but in the end, most women will end up pregnant in time. It WILL happen for you and this will all seem like a bad dream when your little one is here. I have no doubt you will be a mommy.

It will be ok. I know it is scary. On one hand it may be exciting to find out what the hold up is, while on the other it is terrifying to find out what might be wrong and just what it may take to get pregnant. But you will get there, and even better with the help of an RE! What Erin said about TTC#1 grads is so true. So many over there have overcome a lot--and it will happen for you too!

Going to an RE is a big, sometimes scary, step. BUT, it is just the next step to you getting your much deserved baby. I was so afraid of what could be wrong and how long it would take when I first went to my RE.

It will all be so worth it when you get that wonderful BFP.

I haven't been in your shoes since we haven't TTC yet, but I just wanted to pop in and offer some hugs. I'm sure it's very scary, but what the other ladies said make sense. At least you are aware that you aren't ovulating regularly and now you have doctors working on your side to get you your all the sooner!

Thanks Ladies!! The more I think about it, the more positive I feel!! It just sucks because with the Clomid, I was just a girl who didn't ovulate and needed a jump start because of 10 years of birth control, and now, Im considered "infertile" until proven otherwise, and thats scary!!

I'm sorry you're having a hard time with it, but as Lauren said, I think you are very lucky to be able to get into the RE without trying for at least a year. I know it's scary to think about being infertile, but at least your Dr. is being pro-active in figuring out how to fix things without the wait. I hope that the stronger dose of Clomid works for you and you don't have to be referred to a specialist. Good luck!

Michelle

I hope that the 150mg works for you! Because of the way my body didnt respond (my numbers actually got lower) on the two 50mg cycles I had, we are going to an RE next month. Have you made your appt yet? it took me a few days to get over the shock, but as someone pointed out to me.. an RE's job is to get you pregnant.. thats their only job!! That means its hopefully the quickest and least invasive route.. the tests that the REs run, are not pointless or anything (like they can be with a regular gyn) but they are educated decisions as to what the "problem" might be! I hope that you are able to see it in the way that others have helped me see it!

I think it's great you're getting the help of an RE. This is only the beginning. Good luck!

I'm sorry you're in this position Morgan. We sort of had a clue going in when at 20 Mike's sperm counts were 0 and one of the Dr's at my gynos was very nasty about the prospects of me carrying to term with my terrible thyroid.

None of that seemed too shocking. The incorrect PCOS Dx shook my core in a way that it has never been shaken. When they realized my thyroid was causing the problems it made me feel better, but I also know my antibodies and TSH aren't responding like they should.

The best advice I can give is to arm yourself with information. Read about all of the causes of anovulation-- even the things that sound particularly scary. Seeing an RE could be the gateway to your beautiful glorious blessing, and as much as I/Mike might feel like a failure, when he DOES allow us to see an RE {Feb 2010}, it will feel wonderful!!

Try and hang in there sweetheart!!! xx!
